MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A second suspect has been taken into custody in connection to the robbery of a 17-year-old which ended in a shooting last month. Jameial Garner, 18, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with Aggravated Robbery for his alleged involvement in the incident at a Marathon gas station on Ontario Avenue on Feb. 24. They robbed him, but when he fought back, the suspects allegedly pushed him to the ground and then kicked, punched, kneed, and struck the teen with the weapon. Memphis Police said the victim was seen on surveillance footage grabbing another gun from his car and shooting at the suspects as they ran from the scene. Police responded to Regional One, where one of the suspects, identified as Jameial Garner, was dropped off with a gunshot wound in critical condition. The victim was also reportedly taken to Le Bonheur in non-critical condition. The other suspect, 22-year-old Lazander Mitchell was arrested on March 3 and charged with Aggravated Robbery in connection to the same incident. He is being held on a $250,000 bond. The Memphis Police Department responded to a shooting call at the location where they met the teenage victim, who claimed he was standing by his car at the gas pump when two men approached him with an AR-style pistol.
