RETAIL giant JD Sports has announced the opening date for its huge new megastore in Glasgow.
The refurbished branch spans a whopping 16,826 sq ft - more than double the size of the previous unit.

Punters will be able to snap up their favourite brands at the Buchanan Street shop, including Nike, Adidas, The North Face, Under Armour and New Balance.
To celebrate the launch of the store on Thursday, May 8, rising drill group Triple01s will take to the stage for an exclusive live performance on Saturday, May 10, followed by a meet and greet with fans.
Sneakerheads can also nab the highly sought-after Nike Air Max 95 'Pink Foam' on a first-come, first-served basis.
And visitors can also take away their very own JD x Crep Protect goodie bag, packed full of essentials to keep their trainers looking fresh.
Shoppers will also have the chance to get creative with a build-your-own trading card station, plus a "Crack the Code" game with special prizes to be won.

The store will be open 8am to 7pm on Monday to Wednesday, 8am to 8am on Thursday and 8am to 7pm from Friday to Sunday.
JD boasts approximately 3,400 stores and employs more than 65,000 people across 36 territories, including the UK, Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.

JD Sports was named after the founders of the brand, John Wardle and David Makin, hence the name 'JD'.
The brand was established in 1981 with one store in the North of England, before the first London JD Sports opened on Oxford Street in 1989.
