Alice In Chains pull Connecticut gig due to drummer Sean Kinney's 'non-life-threatening medical emergency'
Alice In Chains pulled the plug on their concert at the last minute after drummer Sean Kinney suffered a "non-life-threatening medical emergency". The Seattle rockers were due to play Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut on Thursday night (08.05.25), but were forced to cancel the gig to prioritise the stickman's health. A social media statement read: 'After our soundcheck this evening at the Mohegan Sun Arena, Sean experienced a non-life-threatening medical emergency. 'We unfortunately have to cancel tonight's show. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.' At the time of writing, the Grunge legends' concerts on Saturday (10.05.25) and Sunday (11.05.25) in New Jersey and Ohio, respectively, are assumed to still be going ahead. Meanwhile, the 'Man in the Box' group are due to head over the pond to play Black Sabbath's final concert at Birmingham's Villa Park on July 5. This week, it was claimed that Aerosmith's Steven Tyler is planning to make an appearance at the 'Back To The Beginning' charity show. The 'Sweet Emotion' rockers officially retired from touring last August after frontman Steven suffered a fractured larynx, but he has performed a handful of charity shows since, including his sixth annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party at Los Angeles' Hollywood Palladium in February. And it's now been claimed that the 77-year-old singer will be part of the star-studded lineup at Ozzy Osbourne and co's mammoth all-dayer. A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: 'Steven's injury was so bad and it has been a long road to recovery. 'He still loves performing live and has sung at a couple of charity events after they cancelled the tour. 'Playing at Ozzy's Back To The Beginning show was an offer he couldn't turn down and he will be on the line-up this summer. 'They are hoping Aerosmith guitarist] Joe Perry might be joining him too, but the final details are still being ironed out.' The 'Back To The Beginning' show marks the first time frontman Ozzy has reunited with his bandmates Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward in 20 years. Ozzy has struggled with health issues including Parkinson's disease over the last few years, but he is planning to play a short solo set before joining the rest of the group for a Sabbath spectacular. The singer has admitted he won't be putting on an energetic show and will likely spend most of the gig sitting down, but he's trying his best to be as fit as possible for the big day. He told the Guardian: "I do weights, bike riding, I've got a guy living at my house who's working with me. It's tough – I've been laid up for such a long time. I've been lying on my back doing nothing and the first thing to go is your strength. 'It's like starting all over again. I've got a vocal coach coming round four days a week to keep my voice going." Ozzy's wife Sharon previously insisted the singer's voice is as good as ever despite all of his health problems. She told The Sun newspaper: "He's very happy to be coming back and very emotional about this [planned gig]. "Parkinson's is a progressive disease. It's not something you can stabilise. It affects different parts of the body and it's affected his legs. But his voice is as good as it's ever been." The lineup also includes Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice In Chains, Lamb of God, and Mastodon.

Steven Tyler won't tour again despite doing charity concert, ex-Guns N' Roses drummer says
Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum said that despite singing at a recent charity concert, Steven Tyler won't be going on tour again. "It was a really big moment for him because he hurt himself bad," Sorum told WBAB radio recently of Tyler's performance at the Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party, which benefits his charity Janie's Fund, after injuring his larynx last year. "Now is he going to tour again? No, he's not, and I explain this to people. Steven cannot put himself under the rigors of doing a full worldwide tour because it's a lot of pressure and if you're not a singer you wouldn't understand what he goes through, but he's 77 years old, and he's a perfectionist, and if he doesn't sing correctly, it bothers him." Last August, Aerosmith announced the band would retire from touring after more than 50 years after Tyler injured his larynx while singing onstage. "As you know, Steven's voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury," the statement read. "We've seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. "Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision — as a band of brothers — to retire from the touring stage." "Now is he going to tour again? He will not be on tape, and he will not change the keys to the song," he explained. "That's just who he is. He's like, 'I'm an artist. I'm a singer. This is my band. I've been doing this for 50 years and if I can't do it perfect, I can't do it,' and I respect that." Sorum said he suggested to Tyler that he just sing four or five songs. "And that was just one time. Maybe down the line he'll do it again and possibly do the same amount of songs, but it's a lot of pressure for a guy like him. I wanted to explain that to the fans that are commenting." He added, "So to have him on stage, I cried. I was just beautiful, and I hope that he can do more because it's in his blood, and when we play rock and roll and music, it's not about us jumping up there and like 'Oh OK!' It's what we do." "And when Steven came offstage… he was so happy that he was able to do it," he added. Fox News Digital has reached out to Tyler for comment.
