JUI-F blasts PTI over Kohistan scandal

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) provincial spokesperson Haji Abdul Jalil Jan has accused Barrister Saif of misleading the nation by blaming 12 years of corruption on the caretaker government. Responding to recent statements by the K-P Adviser on Information, Jalil Jan challenged Barrister Saif to present the cheques issued during Taimur Jhagra's tenure as finance minister in connection with the Kohistan scandal. He said that those who constantly label others as thieves have now been caught red-handed. The same political party that promised one million jobs, five million homes, and rivers of milk and honey in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa is itself mired in corruption scandals. Jalil Jan further stated that following the BRT project, Malam Jabba land case, Billion Tree Tsunami, wheat scandal, and misuse of the Sehat Card program, the Kohistan scandal has further exposed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Even ministers and MPAs from the ruling party have come forward with revelations, shedding light on the extent of corruption within Barrister Saif's party.

India sent drones for surveillance inside Pakistan: Khawaja Asif

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Friday informed the National Assembly that recent drone attacks by India was intended for reconnaissance purposes rather than immediate strikes. Speaking on the floor of National Assembly, Khawaja Asif said that Indian drones were allowed to enter a 'safe limit' before intercepting and neutralising them to avoid compromising sensitive locations. He assured lawmakers that the armed forces were fully prepared to respond to any escalation. 'No one should doubt that our armed forces are fully engaged in responding to Indian aggression,' he said. 'We are 200 per cent prepared for any situation,' the defence minister added, noting high morale within the military. He further said that nations such as China, Turkiye, and Azerbaijan had voiced clear support for Pakistan. Asif further said that the government is engaged in daily diplomatic contacts with countries including Iran, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, China, and Qatar, in efforts to de-escalate the situation. Fazl criticises Zardari for signing PECA bill

ISLAMABAD: Reacting on President's assent to Peca Act, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said it is not right to be double-faced. Talking to journalists in Dena, the JUI-F chief said he had discussed Peca Act with the president who assured him that the recommendations on the act would be accepted. However, later on, it transpired that the president had given assent to Peca Amendments Bill. Expressing dismay over the president's action, he said one should not be double-faced. The JUI-F chief said Peca Act is a kind of law which directly hits the profession of journalism. He advised the government to take into account the reservations of the journalists and hold consultations with them. He said there are certain things which are likely to be misused. When we talked about a Shariah law, the question was raised that it could be misused. "Why can the whims of the establishment be deferred if the law of Allah can be deferred,?" Fazl asked. "Our stance is clear that the elections were rigged across the country," said the JUI-F chief, adding the rigging was also committed in K-P and the government was formed on the basis of manipulated results. Fazl said his party wants snap elections in the entire country. The Constitution and parliament are not tools to be molded as per the establishment's wish.
