At Edinburgh Fringe, the Streets Are Alive
Should I go to the Australian acrobats? The Indian stand-up? Or maybe a drag queen life-drawing class? Thousands of visitors to Edinburgh were looking to be entertained this weekend as the Edinburgh Festival Fringe got underway. The event, which runs through Aug. 25, features more than 3,000 acts from nearly 60 countries at venues around the city and in the streets of the historic Old Town.
Jamie Molina, a photographer for The New York Times, was out and about in Edinburgh to capture the atmosphere on the festival's first weekend.
