Where should fantasy managers look to draft TreVeyon Henderson?
Yahoo Fantasy's Matt Harmon and Justin Boone examine the fantasy outlook for the Patriots rookie RB TreVeyon Henderson through two preseason games. View more Video Transcript The star of the preseason, let's say, is Travon Henderson. I think he's probably going to be the picture on this show. Um, you know, we had a clip that got posted last week when we talked about him, and I always find it funny when you talk about a player who's kind of on the rise like this, especially a rookie, especially in the summer, and you get people responding to it and some people are responding to it saying like, yeah, obviously, we already know that guy's great. How, how, why are you talking about him? It's a waste of time, right? And then you get people like, you know. Mad that you're going to push his ADP up, that they don't want you talking about him because they're not going to be able to get him at the same price that they've been getting him at in their mock drafts. Like, all of that is so funny to me. I love those comments. Keep them coming. I laugh when I see them, and we're not going to stop talking about guys that are on the rise, even if they are obvious players, because we're trying to throw that blanket over all of this, right? And there's some people that no ball and are hardcore fantasy players, and there's some people like some of my friends that just show up. This time of year, and they're trying to play catch up on who's on what team and what's going on, and we got to do stuff for them as well. We got to make sure they know about somebody like Travon Henderson who has just been crushing it, right? And we don't have to spend a ton of time because we've already talked about him on the show, but he continues to look great. 8 touches for 50 scrimmage yards and a touchdown through 2 preseason games. It just gives you like that glimpse of what he's capable of. And Rhamondre Stevenson is still going to be involved. I said this when we did the running back show the other day. When Jamir Gibbs had his rookie season, David Montgomery was still involved, and Jamir Gibbs on a per game basis was the RB 11 in half PPR fantasy points per game. So we could see a very big season from Henderson even if Stevenson is still getting a lot of work in that offense. I'm going to take him in the 4th round. That's a smash pick in the 4th round, even though we were getting him in the 5th and maybe even the 6th earlier this summer. Take him in the 4th. The third, I've seen him going in some leagues, that might be a little bit rich for me. He might pay that off, but I don't think you need to go that high with it. If someone wants to take him in the third, I'm gonna let them do it, and I'm gonna find somebody else. Close

Is Jahmyr Gibbs overvalued as a first-round fantasy pick?
Yahoo Fantasy's Matt Harmon and Justin Boone explain why the elite fantasy status is not in jeopardy despite having a tough schedule. Hear the full conversation on the 'Yahoo Fantasy Forecast' podcast - and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you listen. View more Video Transcript Let's go to the next guy here, which is Jamir Gibbs. I believe the first show you did with me this summer was Contrarian Corner. What happens to the Lions in a post-Ben Johnson world? What if it all does fall apart? It felt like you and I were in lockstep there that if one guy's going to be insulated from that, it's Jamir Gibbs. Has anything that's happened since changed your mind or are you still pretty locked in with Jamir Gibbs as a top three running back in this very much elite group? No, he's so good, and it's a testament to him, right, that we say they've lost what we think was a superstar offensive coordinator and the guys on the offensive line, Frank Ragnow, Kevin Zeitler, some really important names in the center of that line, and that line has been such a strength for them. And yet Gibbs, I think, is just going to be fine. I think he has so many ways that he can win. We saw last year they handed him the keys to that offense, right? 250 carries, just an unbelievable season overall, 20 total touchdowns, over 1900 scrimmage yards. And here's another situation where they have the most difficult fantasy schedule, and yet I'm looking at this player and saying he's going to be fine because even if they're trailing in games, even if they're not in scoring position as much, he has so many ways that he can put up fantasy points that I think it's going to be the other guys in that offense like we talked about before, and we'll get to David Montgomery probably eventually. I think he's somebody that could get hurt by some of the changes that have happened there year over year, and I think some of the other pieces like tight end and some of the secondary receivers there, but when it's a player like Gibbs, I have no concerns about him. 12.1% targets here last year; that was sixth among running backs, just behind Gervonta Williams, which, what a stat. I don't think he's going to be doing that in Dallas this year. He's insulated from chaos: those pass-catching guys. Close
