Jamie Lever, daughter of actor Johny Lever, shared a traumatic school incident where a stranger exposed himself and masturbated, leading her to avoid men for years.
Actress, comedian, and social media personality Jamie Lever, daughter of the renowned Bollywood actor Johny Lever, recently revealed some deeply troubling experiences from her past. These incidents had a profound effect on her, causing her to avoid men for many years. Jamie recounted a distressing event where a stranger exposed himself and masturbated in front of her outside her school. Jamie was a student at Jamnabai Narsee International School in Mumbai's Vile Parle at the time.
Recalling the disturbing incident, Jamie told Hauterrfly, 'My driver asked me to sit inside the car after school. I was sitting at the backseat with my friend and we were waiting for my brother. A man came and stood outside the car…he flashed and he started masturbating. I was so shocked that I didn't understand what was happening. I was shaking because I thought he'll open the car door. I slowly locked the doors and when he realised we were not looking at him, he walked off."
The actress added, 'It was so disturbing. I was only 10-12 years old when this happened. I didn't tell my parents because I didn't understand what happened. I did not even discuss this with the friend who I was with because we were traumatised."
Jamie also said that the school bus conductor, who was supposed to keep children safe, would sometimes hold them and touch them in a wrong way.
Recalling another incident, Jamie said, 'Once, I was coming down the stairs at Andheri station and a man came and flashed in front of me. I froze as I didn't understand what happened and why it happened. My friend pulled me and asked me to just keep walking. All these things disturb you. It's now that I feel that I have the courage to stand up for myself and react."
Talking about how these incidents affected her as a teenager, Jamie added, 'To be honest, all these things are like a bad dream to me. You don't want to go back and revisit these things. I've suppressed these incidents in my subconscious. Also, because of these scary incidents, I didn't let men come close to me for many years. Dating, relationships and even talking to men happened much later in my life. I started opening up when I was in London for my post-graduation."
Jamie made her Bollywood debut in 2015 with the film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, which starred Kapil Sharma, Elli AvrRam, and others. She later appeared in movies like Housefull 4, Bhoot Police, Yaatris, and Crakk. In 2024, she stepped into the South Indian film industry with her first Telugu film, Aa Okatti Adakku.
