Kuwait to Roast Under 13 Days of Extreme Heat
KUWAIT CITY, July 28: The Al-Ojairi Scientific Center revealed Kuwait will enter the penultimate phase of the summer season, known as 'Al-Mirzam' on Tuesday, July 29, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In a press release, the center explained that the Al-Mirzam period will last for 13 days, during which temperatures are expected to be extremely high. This period is also referred to as 'Jamrat Al-Qayz', meaning 'the fire of summer', indicating peak intensity of heat. Al-Mirzam marks a new phase in the summer season, followed by 'Al-Kulaibin', known for its humidity, and then 'Suhail'.
The center highlighted that the date palm harvesting will begin next Wednesday. It explained that the name 'Al- Mirzam' is derived from the star of the same name, astronomically known as 'Sirius', which is known to be the brightest star in the sky due to its striking brilliance.
