Tragic reservoir discovery in search for missing man, 31
The body of a man who went missing from Yorkshire has been recovered from a reservoir. Asad Mahmood, 31, was last seen in Shipley on Tuesday morning. In an appeal, West Yorkshire Police said there were "serious concerns" for his welfare, Yorkshire Live reports. The force said they were appealing for any witnesses who may have seen Asad in the afternoon or evening of May 27 in the Stanbury or Oldfield area of Keighley, particularly around the Lower Laithe Reservoir area. A search of the water was then launched yesterday. It said: "It has been sadly confirmed that a body has been found in the search for missing Asad Mahmood, age 31. "Asad had been reported missing since May 27 in the Stanbury/Oldfield area of Keighley. His body was discovered this evening at Lower Laithe Reservoir." Tributes have since been paid for Asad. One person wrote: "Such a sad outcome my heart goes out to all his family and friends." Another said: "So sad. RIP Asad. Man dies on Eid after hit and run crash in Bradford
A 42-year-old man has died three days after he was hit by a car in Bradford. Shabbir Ahmed, 42, was injured when he was struck by a black Audi Q3 on Great Horton Road, at its junction with Havelock Street, on Thursday at around 10:00 GMT. Mr Ahmed died in hospital on Sunday, West Yorkshire Police said. The driver of the Audi failed to stop at the scene.A fourth person has been arrested in connection with the incident, after three others were detained last week. All four suspects, who are males aged between 17 and 35, have been released on bail pending further to the community Facebook page Janaza Announcements, Mr Ahmed was a father of two and worked as a kitchen have asked for any witnesses to come forward.
