RB Leipzig finalize sale of keeper Janis Blaswich to Bayer Leverkusen
Sky Germany and Kicker both report that Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig have finalized the details of keeper Janis Blaswich's transfer. Blaswich will move from Leipzig to Leverkusen for a €2m base-transfer-fee with a potential €1m in bonuses. Blaswich is slated to back up the newly acquired Mark Flekken at his new Bundesliga outfit. The two sources report that Blaswich is en route to Leverkusen for his medical. The 34-year-old Blaswich brings with him plenty of Bundesliga experience, making 47 total appearances in place of injured Leipzig No. 1 Peter Gulacsi. Blaswich's late career renaissance brought him plenty of attention. For a time, there existed a discussion as to whether Blaswich would displace Leipzig's captain in net. Blaswich has also earned call ups to Julian Nagelsmann's national team. Blaswich presently returns to Leipzig following a year-long-loan stint at RB's sister club of Salzburg. Gulacsi's starting status is once again in doubt, but Blaswich doesn't factor into the competition between the Leipzig skipper and young Maarten Vandevoort. Leverkusen themselves have offloaded their own presumed keeper-of-the-future Matej Kovar and are preparing to part company with longtime squad captain Lukas Hradecky. GGFN |

Bayer Leverkusen interested in RB Leipzig goalkeeper Janis Blaswich as number two option
and report that Bayer Leverkusen are interested in RB Leipzig goalkeeper Janis Blaswich. The reason Leverkusen are searching for a number two is because Lukas Hradecky is on the verge of joining AS Monaco, meaning die Werkself need a goalkeeper who can fill in for summer arrival Mark Flekken. Niklas Lomb is currently the club's third-choice keeper. Negotiations with Blaswich over a move are already said to be well advanced, but the decision will ultimately come down to Leipzig. The 34-year-old is currently Leipzig's third-choice keeper, but with the keeper Peter Gulacsi allowed to leave if he wishes, Leipzig wants to avoid needing to sign two goalkeepers. If the Hungarian leaves, then Blaswich will move up to second choice. Blaswich spent last season on loan at Red Bull Salzburg, where he played in the Champions League. The 34-year-old's arrival would also help occupy another homegrown spot when it comes to Leverkusen's Champions League squad registration. GGFN | Jack Meenan
