Sixers' Jared McCain goes crazy reacting to Tyrese Haliburton's shot
Sixers' Jared McCain goes crazy reacting to Tyrese Haliburton's shot The Indiana Pacers did it again on Thursday night as they continued their incredible run in these playoffs. Trailing the Oklahoma City Thunder by 15 in the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the NBA Finals on the road, the Pacers once again dug deep and rallied to win it 111-110 thanks to the heroics of Tyrese Haliburton. Haliburton pulled up for a mid-range jumper and drilled it with 0.3 seconds left to give Indiana its only lead on the night. The win was the fifth for the Pacers when trailing by 15-plus in this postseason and they are now three wins away from the franchise's first NBA title. Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jared McCain served as a player correspondent for Game 1 of the finals and he had a crazy reaction to Haliburton's shot. Quite honestly, the Sixers guard probably had a similar reaction to all of Indiana. Haliburton and the Pacers will look for a 2-0 series lead before the series shifts to Indianapolis. The Thunder have been the best team in the league all season so it will be interesting to see how they bounce back in Game 2 on Sunday.

76ers Star Has Strong Comments on Foul-Baiting in NBA
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Throughout the entire NBA season, one of the biggest debates among fans has been about the foul-baiting that players do on the court. It has become a pain point for many viewers, and some believe that it takes away from the game being played well. More NBA news: Lakers' Luka Doncic Looks Completely Unrecognizable Under New Training This idea allows players to try and trick referees into calling fouls, so they can get more free throws. It's an interesting tactic, and one that can be very effective in helping a team win games. Players such as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks, and James Harden of the Los Angeles Clippers have fallen directly into this. With Gilgeous-Alexander, it has been a consistent theme all year, with social media blowing the idea up completely. Gilgeous-Alexander even got ridiculed during his team's Game 3 loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Minnesota fans chanted "free-throw merchant" toward the league MVP. During the Eastern Conference Finals, Philadelphia 76ers star guard Jared McCain offered some strong thoughts on the subject. "Foul-baiting is just smart. Even when I talk to Joel Embiid about it, he thinks it's just playing the game smart. Just knowing how to manipulate the game in your own way. They have to call it, if it's a foul, it's a foul." (via @BleacherReport, h/t @ClutchPoints) — Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) May 22, 2025 McCain has only been in the NBA for one season, but he does make a good point. It's a skill that some players have mastered, and it's led to their teams being much more successful on the court. Pretty much every player does this type of tactic on the court, but some are just better at it than others. With the way that the league plays basketball in today's era, foul-baiting is likely here to stay for the foreseeable future. 76ers Make Jared McCain Announcement Before 2025 NBA Draft Lottery
The 2025 NBA draft lottery will take place on Monday night, deciding the order of the first 14 picks in this year's upcoming selection process. Three teams hold the best odds to claim the No. 1 over pick at 14% — the Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets. The New Orleans Pelicans hold the next-best odds at 12.5%, followed by the Philadelphia 76ers at 10.5%. Advertisement Last year, the 76ers selected Jared McCain with the No. 16 overall pick in the first round. The former Duke basketball star was on pace to contend for 2024-25 NBA Rookie of the Year honors before suffering a season-ending knee injury in December. Before tearing his meniscus, McCain was averaging 15.3 points per game on 46% shooting from the field and 38.3% from behind the 3-point arc. The 76ers finished the year with a 24-58 record, enough for No. 13 position in the Eastern Conference. McCain will represent the 76ers at the 2025 NBA draft lottery on Monday night, the team shared in an announcement last week. "You guessed it !! Jared McCain will be repping us at the draft lottery," the team wrote on X. This year's NBA draft lottery is widely viewed as the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes. If the 76ers get the No. 1 overall pick, they'll no doubt land McCain's fellow Blue Devil alum with the organization's top selection. The organization has a 64% chance of landing a top-six pick in Monday night's lottery. The 2025 NBA draft lottery will begin at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Sixers give hint at who will represent them at 2025 NBA draft lottery
The Philadelphia 76ers have a very important night coming up on May 12. That is the night of the draft lottery which will determine whether they keep their top 6 protected pick or not. If the pick lands outside the top 6, the pick goes to the Oklahoma City Thunder as part of the Al Horford deal in 2020. The Sixers put out a big hint on Twitter on who will represent them at the 2025 draft lottery. They posted a silhouette of a player that is rather obvious when considering the hairstyle and mannerisms. Advertisement That player is likely going to be Jared McCain who was the No. 16 pick of the Sixers in the 2024 draft. He played in 23 games before his season was cut short due to a lateral tear in the meniscus of his left knee, but he was a prime Rookie of the Year candidate before the injury as he was on a tear on the floor. The Sixers will hope that McCain can give them some luck as they head into an important night. If they can keep the pick, then it gives president Daryl Morey a lot of options. He can, obviously, make the selection and add another young talent to the roster, but he can also play with the pick in terms of trades and see what he can get for it. It's another asset in the toolbox. This article originally appeared on Sixers Wire: Sixers give hint at who will represent them at 2025 NBA draft lottery
