Top Boy star reveals shock split from co-star and tells fans she is now celibate - after fans trolled them over their romance

Top Boy star Jasmine Jobson has confirmed that she's split from her co-star Kadeem Ramsay. The actress, 30, best known for playing Jaq in the hit Netflix series, went public with Kadeem, 37, in October 2023. Kadeem, who portrayed Kit on the gritty drama, first appeared in the second series in 2013 and exited the show in 2022. In a video shared to her social media, Jasmine addressed questions about her relationship status, revealing she's 'in a committed relationship with life'. When asked by fans if she was still in a relationship, she said: 'No, I'm not but I'm also not single, thank you very much. 'I am taken by life. And I am celibate - not single, not taken, just in a committed relationship with life.' She added: 'The next time I see somebody is gonna be the man that I marry.' The couple went Instagram official with their romance in October 2023 with a sweet snap. The pair were stood in a field in the photo as they leaned in for a smooch, with the actress captioning the snap: 'You can't sit with us'. The couple's romance had not been well received by some fans of the show however as Jasmine has shared an Instagram Story encouraging people to 'Be kind'. Jasmine's character Jaq is a lesbian and it appears some fans believed her to be gay in real life too as she emphasised she is an actress playing a role. She wrote: 'I'm an ACTRESS. My job is to play dress-up & pretend. I take a script and make it palatable for your eyes to watch. 'I am also a HUMAN BEING, LIKE ALL OF YOU, just living my life. Be kind'. Jasmine and Kadeem were first reported to be dating earlier in the month when she teased their trip to Ibiza together on social media. A source told The Sun: 'Jasmine and Kadeem have been quietly dating for some time and are often seen out and about together. 'Since the series ended they have become more relaxed and Jasmine has started giving glimpses of her love life on social media.' In an interview with Digital Spy, Jasmine spoke about the importance of playing an out black lesbian on the show. She said: 'It's still a taboo. And I think it's very important that we see it, because it happens. I've got lots and lots of friends that are gay or lesbian. 'So [I asked] them what have they experienced [and] how they dealt with it, so I would kind of know how I was going to portray that scene.' On the show, Jasmine's character Jaq is in a relationship with Becky who is played by Adwoa Aboah. She has received critical acclaim for her performance and has been twice nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the BAFTAs.

Cannes: ‘The Creep' Reboot Sells for U.K. (Exclusive)

True Brit Entertainment has picked up U.K. and Irish rights to The Creep, director Christopher Smith's reimagining of his 2004 horror cult classic. Top Boy's Jasmine Jobson, Wicked actor Andy Nyman, and U.K. rapper Aitch, in his acting debut, co-star in the Gen Z Creep update. More from The Hollywood Reporter Diane Kruger Goes Home to Reteam With Fatih Akin for 'Amrum': "We Bring Out the Best in Each Other" Angelina Jolie Delivers Humanitarian Message at Chopard Dinner in Front of Quentin Tarantino, Cannes Jury: "None of Us Are Naive" Lynne Ramsay, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson Toast 'Die, My Love' at Cannes Dinner Hosted by The Hollywood Reporter and Longines The original film follows a woman (Run Lola Run star Franke Potente) locked in the London Underground overnight. She later finds herself being stalked by a hideously deformed killer living in the sewers below. In the new film, Jobson plays Chloe, a struggling artist and former drug mule who gets pulled into doing one final job: Running drugs across London for an old contact, the elusive Mads. Carrying a holdall of narcotics and an envelope of cash, Chloe boards the last train on the London Underground, only to find herself trapped in a nightmare. A masked killer slaughters her fellow passengers in a blood-soaked frenzy, and Chloe barely escapes, fleeing into a labyrinth of tunnels. Captured by this grotesquely deformed psychopath, she's thrown into a makeshift prison with other terrified captives. With the help of sharp-witted rapper Natter G and the resourceful Nina, she leads a desperate fight through a nightmarish maze. Nyman plays Dave, a captive well acquainted with the Creep's modus operandi, while Brit award-winner Aitch is Natter G, a famous rapper with keenly honed survival instincts. The Creep is set to begin shooting in London this fall. The producers of the original film, Julie Baines and Jason Newmark, are back for the reboot, being produced by Baines' Dan Films and Newmark's Newscope Films. Jonathan Taylor of Dan Films and Laurie Cook of Newscope will also produce. The original Creep cinematographer Danny Cohen and the production designer from the first film, John Frankish are also on board for the new movie. Peter Watson and Gabrielle Stewart will executive produce together with True Brit founder and CEO Zygi Kamasa. HanWay Films, which represented sales on the original film, is handling worldwide sales. The Creep was developed with funding from HanWay's new development fund that helps late-stage projects get over the line. HanWay Film's Nicole Mackey and Katie Ellen negotiated the deal with True Brit Entertainment's Nick Manzi.
