Tyriq Withers Celebrates 27th Birthday With Premiere of ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer'

Tyriq Withers' 27th birthday got off to quite the special start. The night before, the rising actor attended his very first premiere, for his movie 'I Know What You Did Last Summer.' Prior to walking the red carpet, in a full Thom Browne look styled by Jason Bolden, his team presented him with a cake. A few hours later, he was seated beside his mother and nephew in the theater, taking in the screening. 'Last night was a movie, no pun intended,' he says the following day, on his actual birthday. 'It was electric from doing press in the morning to going to the hotel and then meeting all my team there and getting ready for my first premiere — it was a dream come true. I had anxiety about the night because I just wanted it to last forever. I wish I could bottle that feeling up and then when you feel down, you get to pour it out a little bit and feel that feeling again.' It may be his first premiere but he'll be back on the circuit shortly: this fall he stars in 'Him,' the Jordan Peele-produced sports horror film, one of the year's most anticipated new titles. Safe to say, Withers has to get used to seeing himself on screen more. 'I was sweating the entire time,' he says of watching 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' next to his family. 'Anytime I knew my face was about to pop up, I started tensing. It's funny that I make movies and the only real opinion that matters is my 7-year-old nephew. So I'm walking out of the theater and I was like, 'did you like it? Really? Are you lying to me?'' For the big night, Withers and Bolden opted for a Thom Browne kilt over trousers, paired with a knit vest. 'I think it's such an eclectic look that pushes specific boundaries that I'm passionate about, because I think growing up there's this idea of what it means to be masculine. And I think I've been teetering that line my entire life,' Withers says. 'I think masculinity is being bold enough to do exactly what you want to do, being so confident in who you are as a person and how you want to express yourself. I think that's the most masculine thing one can do. It's not tied to any specific gender. I just love this look with the iconic gray skirt on the outside of the pants and the checkered vest piece.' With his first two big projects, Withers, who played football at Florida State before becoming an actor, is set to become a new star of the horror genre. 'I grew up struggling to watch them — you know how that is,' he says. 'I think one of my scariest films ever is 'Jeepers Creepers,' and to this day, I can't really wash my hair or shampoo with my eyes shut. You got to keep those eyes open. So yeah, I'm a big fan because it's just so much to play with. There's a community that you can enjoy the movie with theatrically, and then I think it's just an escapism for everyday life to really tap into a film and just enjoy it.' 5 of Nicholas Hoult's best looks from the Superman press tour: his red carpet 'fits included ultra-modern pieces by Burberry, Prada and Tom Ford – paired with a striking new haircut

Nicholas Hoult has made headlines for debuting an edgy blond look ahead of the release of his new film. Superman, the first opus from James Gunn's relaunched DC Universe, is set to premiere on July 11. The 35-year-old British actor plays Lex Luthor, one of the most well-known villains in the comic book's history, who was previously portrayed by late Hollywood star Gene Hackman in 1978, and Michael Rosenbaum in the TV series Smallville. Hoult's sharp, cohesive looks reflect the intellect and presence of his on-screen character, and have been carefully curated by Jason Bolden, aka The Hollywood Reporter's 2025 Stylist of the Year. Bolden has previously worked with Cynthia Erivo, Michael B. Jordan, Nicole Kidman and Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry. Here are five of the most striking looks from Nicholas Hoult's Superman press tour. Hoult wore a Burberry autumn 2025 leather jacket over a simple white T-shirt and tailored trousers that gave him the perfect slim-fit silhouette – even if he was a little overdressed for the heatwave. The actor finished the look with a pair of Chelsea boots and Jaeger-LeCoultre's Reverso Tribute Duoface Chronograph. Defiant Nicole Kidman posts a video of herself wearing her wig after epic red carpet fail at Cannes Film Festival

made headlines after she suffered an epic hair fail at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday. But the Moulin Rouge! star hit back at the critics by reposting a video of herself from the event to Instagram. The actress, 57, shared a video to her story on Tuesday which saw her posing in her long wig on the balcony of a waterfront property before attending the event. It also showed Nicole one day earlier on the red carpet with her hair piece. The original video was posted by fashion stylist Jason Bolden, who captioned it: '2 Vibes Same Girl.' Nicole suffered a fail as she wore her hairpiece at the 2025 Kering Women In Motion Awards and Cannes Film Festival Presidential Dinner on Sunday. The Moulin Rouge! star wore the weave to add volume to her strawberry blonde locks and help give her a more youthful look. However, the mesh wig cap was visible as Nicole posed for photos on the red carpet despite her real hair being weaved into it. Hollywood stars often wear wigs and hair extensions to achieve a more youthful appearance as hair thins and loses volume with age. Nicole also showed off her smooth visage at the event with a natural makeup palette. The actress, who accepted the 2025 Kering Women in Motion Award, showed off her sexy yet conservative red dress as she posed for the cameras at the exclusive event. Established a decade ago, the honour is given to women who have made a groundbreaking impact on the big screen. As she accepted the honour, Nicole said she would continue to use her platform to fight for continued gender equality in the film industry. She said: 'I'm just an advocate and want to continue to keep moving forward with that.' Previous winners of the Women in Motion Award include Susan Sarandon and Salma Hayek. Nicole added: 'I am proud to join the list of extraordinary women who've received this honour before me - artists and trailblazers I deeply admire. 'The Cannes Film Festival has been a part of my life for over 30 years and I am thrilled to add this incredible recognition to the many memories I've made here.' The hair gaffe was Nicole's second mishap of the day after her hair piece was seen off-centre to her natural scalp line when she sported an all-black ensemble to give her talk for the award. This consisted of a tightly-fitted leather jacket and black denims that were styled with a large belt. The actress explained that as part of her commitment to helping women in the industry, she vowed in 2017 to work with a female director every 18 months. Since then, she revealed, she has worked with 27 women on several projects, including those yet to be released. 'Part of it is protecting and surrounding the women with almost like a force field of protection and support,' she said. Nicole's habit of wearing wigs in Hollywood movies has earned her a cult following over the years. The Hollywood star has rarely showcased her natural hair in films since the early days of her career, and almost exclusively wears wigs for all of her movie roles. An Aussie stylist has since weighed in on her most radical red carpet look at the 2025 Met Gala, where she debuted an edgy new haircut. Bixie Colour hairstylist Andrew Newport believes her new short style could be a mix of her real hair and extensions. 'This could be Nicole's real hair with the length at the back disguised under some artfully placed, clipped or glued in hair pieces,' he said. 'This look, which appears to have been achieved by hair magic, could have been created by taking the hair at the back of the head and braiding tightly to the scalp. Nicole's real hair is featured at the front fringe, plus the hair extensions at the nape would be dressed over the disguised hair. 'This would take a bit of work and considerable time but is 100% achievable.'
