Metuchen's first marijuana dispensary is now open. Here's where
After years of controversy, there are still no dispensaries in Edison, leaving the township's 10 marijuana establishment licenses gathering dust.
But now, the "brainy borough" completely surrounded by Edison has welcomed its first dispensary, adding to its artsy and artisan-friendly offerings.
HoneyStash Dispensary has opened at 700 Middlesex Ave. in Metuchen, across from the Middlesex County Greenway.
'We're pleased to welcome HoneyStash to Metuchen," said Metuchen Mayor Jonathan Busch. "This is a significant step in supporting our local economy by introducing a growing industry that creates jobs and supports responsible and well-regulated consumer access to cannabis. They have transformed a vacant space into a vibrant and inviting retail shop and I look forward to their success.'
Local news: An upscale steakhouse is opening in downtown Metuchen
HoneyStash is a wellness-focused dispensary that offers small-batch, hand-packaged craft cannabis from independent cultivators.
Some of the brands it carries include Brighterside Farms, EV Family Farms, Neptune's Garden, Bass River Buds, Jerzey Grown, Hillview Farms, Sun Extractions, Onyx, Niche, Garden Greens, Veda Warrior, and Miss Grass.
'By embracing an independent dispensary like HoneyStash, Metuchen continues to lead with innovation while staying true to our small-town values,' said Metuchen Borough Council president Jason Delia. 'HoneyStash's appreciation for art and community makes it a perfect fit for our downtown.'
