Free cloud services and zero content filtering make EQC One a true creator haven
In a sparsely furnished Silicon Valley office, a musician who once watched 95% of her streaming revenue vanish into platform fees now downloads her earnings report—and sees 99.5% of listener payments going to her. Across town, a filmmaker uploads a documentary that three major platforms rejected for its controversial political stance. Within minutes on EQC One, it's available worldwide, without any algorithmic suppression. Welcome to EQC One, a platform from tech company Teklium. EQC One aims to create what many consider impossible: a content ecosystem where creators keep nearly all their revenue (up to 99.5%), and where infrastructure costs are minimal or subsidized by the platform's token system, and content is not subject to opaque algorithmic ranking or filtering. The 99.5% Solution Traditional content platforms operate on the premise that creators need them more than they need creators. This power imbalance often leads to commission structures that feel punitive to artists, sometimes taking between 30% and 95% of creator revenue. EQC One promises to flip this model completely. "We charge only 0.5% on transactions, ensuring content providers get 99.5% of their sales," states Jason Ho, founder of Teklium. This represents a dramatic shift in digital revenue sharing, potentially transforming the economics of online creation. Beyond the revenue split, EQC One's infrastructure model departs from industry norms. While many platforms pass hosting, storage, and bandwidth costs onto creators, EQC One says it will use its own token-based economy to cover these expenses, effectively offering cloud services at no direct cost to creators. In practice, this means creators don't pay upfront for servers, content delivery, or data storage, as those expenses are expected to be offset by tokens earned on the network. Quantum-Inspired Economics EQC One's operations rely on a proprietary digital currency and 'EQCertificates,' which together power the platform's economic engine. The digital currency functions like a cryptocurrency: it's the exclusive medium for all transactions on EQC One. Service providers (such as data centers, content servers, and advertising networks) earn these tokens by performing verifiable work for the network. Teklium refers to these tasks as 'Proof-of-Work' contributions (although here they simply mean providing computing or distribution services, not traditional crypto mining). Meanwhile, EQCertificates act as a usage accounting mechanism. Content creators must obtain the appropriate certificates (paid for with tokens) to deliver their content; these certificates correspond to the computing power, bandwidth, and storage used. Advertisers or sponsors on the platform can choose to cover these certificate costs on behalf of creators. The platform also employs a deflationary token model: each time the total token supply doubles, the reward for new contributions is halved. In effect, token issuance slows as the platform grows, limiting inflation and making token-based access cheaper over time. The Algorithm-Free Zone and Censorship A key promise of EQC One is its stance on algorithmic content control. The platform explicitly bans opaque algorithmic filtering or ranking of content. Instead of hidden algorithms deciding what gets promoted or demoted, discovery on EQC One relies on transparent metrics (like view counts, download stats, and user ratings) and human recommendations. EQC One takes an unconventional approach to moderation. It requires all users to register with verified identification before participating. Users must verify their identity before purchasing tokens, rating content, or commenting. This means anonymity is not allowed. Teklium argues that tying real identities to actions increases accountability, reducing abusive behavior and the need for strict algorithmic censorship. Quantum-Level Protection EQC One applies its quantum-inspired encryption to protect content. This approach significantly increases control for creators. It becomes much harder for an unauthorized person to reuse or pirate the content. Building The Anti-Platform EQC One is described as an 'anti-platform' by Teklium. Instead of inserting itself between creators and audiences (like many centralized platforms do), EQC One strives to act more like neutral infrastructure. In practice, however, EQC One still manages key platform functions (like issuing tokens and verifying identities) even as it claims to 'stay out of the way.' As founder Jason Ho puts it, 'The goal is [to create] a fair and progressive Internet by removing the barriers imposed by dominant entities. It prioritizes financial benefits for creators and younger generations over the old gatekeepers.' Saying Goodbye to the Inefficiencies of Traditional Content EQC One's ambitions extend beyond media. Teklium envisions a platform where professionals can offer expertise, companies can list services or products, and inventors can pitch new ideas — all within the same token-based ecosystem. In other words, they imagine expanding the marketplace concept to many kinds of digital offerings, not just music or video. Teklium even speaks of an 'Internet utopia' built on these rules. However, the platform's success depends on broad adoption by creators and users. For now, EQC One's creator-friendly model remains mostly a vision: it appeals to those disillusioned with conventional platforms, but its real-world impact has yet to be proven. For creators tired of watching traditional platforms capture most of their revenue and control their reach, EQC One's proposition is certainly attractive: very low fees, token-backed infrastructure, and promised transparency. Whether it becomes the 'creator haven' Teklium envisions will depend on the platform's execution and acceptance by the community.

Former Coventry University students return to where they met before wedding
A couple from Hong Kong who met at Coventry University have returned to the city where they fell in love as they prepare to tie the Ho, 27, and Jason Ho, 30, who coincidentally share a surname, first encountered each other while playing for the university's badminton team in 2016, but it was not until three years later, during their final few months of their studies, that they got to know one another. The pair have flown nearly 6,200 miles (10,000km) back to their university city and posed for engagement photographs, ahead of their big day in Hong Kong early next year. Mr Ho said it was a "no brainer" to head back to Coventry as they had made so many memories there. Ms Ho fondly remembered that they made their relationship official on their graduation couple used their visit to reunite with those who made their time at the university so special, including Ms Ho's lecturer, Richard Jones, course director for interior architecture and design. Mr Jones said he was "honoured" that his former student had reached out and described the 27-year-old as someone who "always came out with creative ideas".He added that he had asked Ms Ho if he needed to dress up for the reunion. "She said no, so imagine my surprise when I turned up in everyday clothes and Jason and Jamie are dressed up for their forthcoming wedding in a white suit and a full wedding dress looking like models."But that's the creative, lovely Jamie I know."Mr Jones said the the couple's relationship was a "genuine love story made in Coventry" and wished them "every happiness".
