Woman, 29, dies in one-vehicle crash that closed A9 for ten hours

A woman has died following a one-vehicle crash that closed the A9 for almost ten hours in the Highlands. Emergency services were alerted to the crash, involving a white Kia Sportage, at Invergordon near Lower Tullich at around 2.38am on Wednesday. The driver of the car, a 29-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The A9 from Kildary to Tomich closed for around ten hours and reopened around 11.30am. Jasper Image The A9 was closed for ten hours while investigations were carried out. Jasper Image Police Scotland is urging anyone with information regarding the crash to come forward. Sergeant Kate Finlayson, Dingwall Road Policing said: 'Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died. 'Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this crash or has dashcam footage that could be helpful in our investigation. 'I would also like to extend my thanks to the motorists that stopped to help the woman. 'Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 278 of July 30, 2025.' Two men charged with attempted murder after teen seriously injured

Two men have been charged in connection with attempted murder after a teenager was seriously injured at a property in Inverness. Emergency services were called to Balloan Road around 9.45pm on Saturday following reports of a disturbance. A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Medical teams have described the teenager's condition as stable. Two men, aged 19 and 24, have been charged following the incident. JasperImage A teenager was found injured within a block of flats. 'Two men, aged 19 and 24, have been arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with the incident.'
