Jax Taylor Shares His Message for Brittany Backstage at The Valley Reunion (EXCLUSIVE)
It's no secret that The Valley's Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright had a difficult season. From Jax going to a mental health facility to Brittany serving him divorce papers, the now-separated couple's relationship has continued to struggle throughout Season 2. However, Jax has hopes for the two getting to a better place. In an exclusive interview with backstage at The Valley reunion taping, Jax shared how he felt going into the dramatic day after such a tumultuous season. "I have pretty thick skin, and I'm just gonna go in and hear everybody out and hope everybody hears me out [and] just kinda take it from there," he said. "I'm in a very different place in my life now, so, my anger is not so much there anymore." Jax then revealed his primary focus going into the taping. "My main concern is Brittany," he declared. Jax continued, sharing a message for his ex-wife. "My main concern is just letting her know just how sorry I am we got to this place," he explained. "I don't know how we got here, but we got here. And basically just letting her know I will always love her and I will always be there for her and, obviously, she will be in my life for the rest of my life. We have a son together, so, whatever I can do to be there for her and support her in her next venture, whatever she wants to do with her life, I will be here, and I will never live far away from her in case she needs me for anything and, of course, I don't want to be away from my son." "So, like I said, just taking accountability for everything that I've done — and I've done a lot — and basically just saying I'm sorry, and that I hope she can forgive me," he added. "There [were] probably more lows than there [were] highs," Jax shared. "I can't tell you how hard this year was for me. It was the hardest year of my life. You know, losing my father was the hardest time. I lost my father, my best friend, and that was the toughest thing I've ever gone through and then, obviously this year, I don't know too many people who could go through what I have gone through and still be standing, to be honest with you." "I couldn't count on two hands all the things that have happened to me this year, not playing the victim at all, but just between losing my family, going to rehab twice, being diagnosed with bipolar, PTSD, OCD, losing my friends, having a f—king alcohol problem — I mean, I could go on and on and on," he added. RELATED: Jax Taylor opens up about his relationship with his and Brittany Cartwright's son, Cruz Through all the hardship, Jax said there was "one reason" he kept fighting: his and Brittany's four-year-old son, Cruz. "I have a son, and that's the only reason why I'm still here. I do everything for him," the dad shared. Inside Jax Taylor's decision to leave The Valley On July 15, Jax announced that he would not be returning to The Valley next season. 'After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I'll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley," he said in a statement. "Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz.' Brittany Cartwright claims estranged husband Jax Taylor 'threw a coffee table' at her during 'aggressive' fight
Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor faced off during The Valley Reunion Part 1 on Tuesday evening. Following season two of the show, the estranged spouses and their castmates gathered with host Andy Cohen to hash out their biggest issues. While answering Cohen's questions about the demise of their marriage and imminent divorce, 36-year-old Brittany accused Jax, 46, of being violent towards her. She alleged that he became 'extremely aggressive' when he found out she had been hooking up with their mutual friend amid their separation. Brittany — who shares four-year-old son Cruz with her ex — said, 'He threw the coffee table, it landed on my knee, it turned black immediately. He threw both bar stools, he threw my Stanley cup and broke it.' And she added, 'He threw my phone and broke it. He threw my laptop and broke it,' before claiming Jax 'threw me into the rose bushes.' When Jax, whom she married in 2019, denied doing it, Brittany hit back, 'Yes, you did. It's on my Ring camera doorbell. My close friends up here have seen the videos.' The mother-of-one then explained why she became involved with their friend, whose name is Julian. The Kentucky native said she and Julian never actually dated, but were 'just hooking up a couple times a week.' 'Maybe it was weird I hooked up with somebody that was in the friend group,' she reasoned before expressing, 'My confidence was at an all-time low. [Jax] degraded me, put me down, body-shamed me constantly.' On the contrary, she said, 'Julian gave me attention that I needed in that moment. He made me feel sexy, he made me feel beautiful. He was what I needed because you made me literally lose my sparkle. And everybody knows it,' according to an account from Too Fab. Not holding back, the former Vanderpump Rules star then gave a specific example of how her husband body shamed her, claiming he 'literally called me a tree trunk because I had stretch marks.' Elsewhere in the explosive episode, Jax shared he wants to undergo a vasectomy, to which Brittany predicted, 'He's gonna have 20 baby mamas if he doesn't.' She piled on, 'He's disgusting. I would not touch that dirty d**k with a 10-inch pole,.' She alleged that he became 'extremely aggressive' when he found out she had been hooking up with their mutual friend amid their separation The statement prompted Jax to reply, 'That's not what you said four months ago, when we were at the aquarium. And you were like, "Do you think we should hook up one more time?" You said that at Hooter's four months ago. You were drunk, too.' 'There's no possible way I would touch you,' Brittany rebutted before making an implication about his health as she said: 'Now that I know everything you've done and everything you've got going on down there, there's no possible way.' The two went tit-for-tat with their accusations, with Jax accusing Brittany of hooking up with a guy who has dated 'porn stars' as she accused him of having sex with OnlyFans models. Taylor later said he's seen 'condoms all over the floor' at their marital home, to which Cartwright quipped, 'Hey, at least I use them.' The exes separated in February 2024, with Brittany filing for divorce in August. During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Brittany said the divorce proceedings are still dragging out because 'we both didn't send in all of our stuff at the right time. It was a lot of stuff that happened.'

Jax Taylor plans to 'prioritise his sobriety'
Jax Taylor has terminated his affiliation with his Los Angeles bar. The 46-year-old reality TV star - who has been open about his addiction struggles in recent months - has ended his affiliation with Jax's Studio City, following his recent exit from The Valley. A spokesperson for Jax told Us Weekly that he's made "a carefully considered and necessary step to prioritise his sobriety and mental health". The news was confirmed shortly after TMZ observed that Jax's name had been removed from the marquee signage at the Studio City bar. Jax - who spent time in rehab in 2024, amid struggles with addiction - announced that he was leaving The Valley earlier this month. The reality star explained at the time that he intended to focus his attention on his sobriety, mental health, and coparenting. Jax - who has Cruz, four, with his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright - told Us Weekly: "After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I'll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley. Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz." Despite this, Jax subsequently suggested that he could return to The Valley at some point in the future. The TV star - who has been married to Brittany since 2019 - explained that he was simply taking "a pause" from the show. He said on his In the Mind of Jax Taylor podcast: "Myself, my team [and] the producers got together [and] we decided to take a break from season three. This is not goodbye. This is kind of just a pause on things. The more I talked about it with everybody, it just didn't seem to make a lot of sense [to] me." Season two of The Valley explored Jax's acrimonious split from Brittany Cartwright and the reality star hopes to "heal" during his time off-screen. Jax said: "We get past a lot of stuff after filming and then we have to relive it again. You know when the show comes on, so that kind of never allows the wound to technically heal because now the scab keeps getting ripped open."

'[Jax] said your divorce was set to be finalized July 21, which was yesterday,' Cohen told Cartwright. 'Are you now officially divorced?' Cartwright responded, 'Unfortunately no,' before being pressed to explain the situation. Jax Taylor Claims to Know Exact Date Brittany Cartwright Divorce Will Be Finalized 'We both, like, didn't send in all of our stuff at the right time,' she said with an awkward laugh, which drew a confused expression from Cohen. 'It's a lot of stuff that happens, so October 15 is the new date and it's going to happen.' Cartwright added that her current relationship with Taylor, whom she was married to for almost five years, is 'horrible.' She explained, '[There's] no trust, whatsoever.' Brittany Cartwright Previously Explained What Would Push Her to File for Divorce from Jax Taylor Us Weekly confirmed on August 27, 2024, that Cartwright filed to divorce Taylor, listing their official date of separation as January 24 and noting irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the filing. (The estranged pair share son Cruz, 4.) The filing arrived just days after Taylor completed a 30-day inpatient treatment plan for his mental health struggles, as confirmed via a statement to Us from a representative for Taylor at the time. Us also recently exclusively confirmed that Taylor will be leaving The Valley ahead of season 3 of Bravo's hit reality series. 'After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I'll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley,' a July 16 statement to Us read. 'Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz.' Cartwright has yet to publicly address Taylor's decision to depart the series but sat by quietly as her Valley costar Zack Wickham addressed the news on Tuesday's episode of WWHL. Asked whether Wickham felt 'at all vindicated' by Taylor's departure, Wickham, 37, said he didn't because he wants Taylor 'to get better at the end of the day.' In a message directed to Taylor, Wickham then said, 'Don't fake it, actually do the work,' which Cartwright nodded to before turning her head to face further questions from Cohen. Cartwright also discussed her romantic life during the appearance, confirming that she's 'single as a Pringle' when asked by an audience member to comment on where she currently stands.
