Delhi stray dog case: Actor Sadaa Sayed breaks down over SC's verdict; says, 'Shame on us, shame on our country'
Picture Credit: X Actor Sadaa Sayed has made an emotional plea following the Supreme Court's recent verdict directing the removal of all stray dogs from Delhi and surrounding regions. In a tearful video posted on her Instagram handle, the 'Jayam' actor expressed deep anguish over what she fears will be a mass killing of dogs, calling the move both inhumane and impractical. Fear of mass killing Referring to a recent incident that supposedly led to the orders, Sadaa said, "Ek case jo prove ho chuka hai ki rabies ki wajah se thi bhi nahi wo ladki ki death, usko leke three lakh dogs are about to be relocated or rather killed. Why don't we accept that they are going to be killed by the end of it? Because it is not in the capacity of the government or local authorities to create shelters for that many dogs in just eight weeks. It is just going to be a mass killing of the dogs." Government inaction blamed The actor blamed the government and local bodies for their "incompetence" in vaccinating and sterilising stray animals, saying that had the ABC (Animal Birth Control) program been implemented effectively with a dedicated budget, this situation could have been avoided. Struggles of animal lovers Sadaa also mentioned the struggles faced by animal lovers and NGOs who, she said, feed and sterilise stray animals without government support. "Sab kuch apni jebo se hota hai… Koi sarkar ki madad nahi milti. I have been doing this for many years. And we make sure these dogs and cats are sterilised," she added, while criticising those who buy specific breed dogs instead of adopting strays. Sadaa spoke about peaceful protesters being detained by police and the heartbreak of imagining the fate of the animals. "I never imagined that being in a country like India, we are going to bear witness to a mass killing like this. This is killing me from the inside. Shame on us, shame on our country, and shame on who didn't think twice before passing judgment. Please take this decision back," she pleaded. Ravi Mohan's Rumoured Girlfriend Kenishaa Francis Issues Legal Notice Over 'Rape, Death Threats' Amid His Spilt From Aarti
New Delhi: Ravi Mohan's rumoured girlfriend Kenishaa Francis has taken a legal step against the "rape, death threats" she has been receiving amid the actor's public fight with his estranged wife Aarti for a divorce. Kenishaa Francis shared a legal statement over the online defamation on Instagram. An excerpt from the statement read, "These acts amount to direct violations of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, including Section 75 (sexual harassment through unwelcome advances or sexually colored remarks), Section 351 (criminal intimidation), and Section 356 (defamation), as well as multiple provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000, including Section 66E (violation of privacy), Section 67 and Section 67 A (publication or transmission of obscene content in electronic form)." The statement also stated how Kenishaa Francis has received "rape threats, death threats, sexually explicit and obscene messages," which caused her "psychological injury and reputational harm." At the Family Court, Ravi re-iterated his claim of granting a divorce while Aarti Ravi claimed Rs 40 lakh as monthly alimony. In the court hearing on May 21, Ravi urged the court to reject Aarti's plea for cohabitation. The Court advised both parties to reconsider their petitions and adjourned the matter till June 12. Ravi Mohan hit the headlines last year after he announced his divorce from Aarti. In a counter-post, Aarti claimed the decision was made "without her consent". Ravi Mohan mentioned in his note he hasn't taken the decision of divorce in haste. He wrote, "After much thought, reflections and discussions, I have taken the difficult decision to proceed with the dissolution of marriage with Aarti. This decision was not made out of haste and it stems from personal reasons that I believe are in the best interests of everyone involved." He also changed his name from Jayam Ravi to Ravi Mohan. Ravi Mohan, son of veteran film editor A Mohan, is known for films such as Jayam, Daas, Mazhai, Bommarillu, Peranmai, Romeo Juliet, Bhoomi and Siren. Amid the public fight, Ravi Mohan's rumoured girlfriend Kenishaa Francis shared multiple screenshots of messages on her Instagram Story claiming she has received death threats. Kenishaa's move comes days after Aarti Ravi took an indirect dig at Ravi's relationship with Kenishaa. In her statement, Aarti alleged that her marriage broke because of a "third person." Kenishaa Francis wrote on Instagram, "I'm not turning off my comments or running away. I have nothing to hide from no body. You have the right to question my actions but please come do it to my face and I'm happy to show each one of you and in public my side of the story and how one person's falsification is your truth. Please take me to court if you're confident that I'm even a catalyst to anything that is happening around me now. I beg you- take me to court! Do it rightfully!" You speak of karma to hurt me, but when the truth comes out-legally and legitimately-I won't wish that same pain upon you," she added.
