Smoke from AC coach halts Jayanti Express at Nandalur station
Tension gripped the passengers on the Kanyakumari–Pune Jayanti Express on Sunday after thick smoke billowed out from one of the AC coaches while passing through Nandalur station in Annamayya district on the Renigunta-Guntakal section.
According to information, smoke was noticed beneath the B2 AC coach when the train was negotiating a curve. This led to panic among the passengers, who immediately passed on the information to the train guard, following which the train was brought to a sudden halt at Nandalur station. The technical teams rushed to the spot and conducted inspections. The crew rectified the snag, which was attributed to friction in the brake system. After a thorough safety check, the train resumed its journey with a minor delay.
