Vijay Deverakonda Reacts to Gaddar Film Awards Honor
The Telangana state government has announced the 2024 Gaddar Film Awards. Films like Kalki, Lucky Bhaskar, and Razakar have won big. Actor Allu Arjun received the Best Actor award for Pushpa 2. After a gap of 14 years, the state government is presenting film awards once again. The award ceremony will be held on June 14 at HITEX, Hyderabad. Since the awards had been pending for years, even before the state was divided, the Telangana government formed a committee a few months ago to review and finalize the awards. Jury Chairperson Jayasudha and TFDC Chairman and jury member Dil Raju said that the selection process was done with complete transparency. Jayasudha congratulated all the award winners. He said it was a great honor to announce the Kantha Rao Memorial Award, and that receiving an award in the name of legendary actor Kantha Rao made him truly happy. He thanked the Telangana government and the jury members for the honor. He also expressed gratitude for selecting his 2016 film Pelli Choopulu as the second-best film that year. Vijay said that Pelli Choopulu will always have a special place in my heart. He dedicated this honor to his fans, saying their love keeps him going. He also thanked his family, directors, and film team for being a constant support in his journey.

Allu Arjun wins best actor, Nivetha Thomas best actress as Gaddar Telangana Film Awards return after 14 years
HYDERABAD: After a gap of 14 years, the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards for the year 2024 were announced in Hyderabad on Thursday. Allu Arjun was awarded Best Actor for Pushpa 2, while Nivetha Thomas won the Best Actress award for 35 Chinna Katha Kaadu. It may be recalled here that the actor was arrested on December 13, 2024, nine days after the stampede at Sandhya Theatre, in which a woman died on the premiere show of Pushpa-2. Allu Arjun thanked the government for announcing the award. He posted on X, 'I am truly honoured to receive the first Best Actor award for #Pushpa2 at the #GaddarTelanganaFilmAwards 2024. Heartfelt thanks to the Government of Telangana for this prestigious honour. All credit goes to my director Sukumar garu, my producers, and the entire Pushpa team. I dedicate this award to all my fans, your unwavering support continues to inspire me.' Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC) chairman Dil Raju and renowned actress Jayasudha presided over the ceremony, with the latter announcing the list of winners. The actress was also the chairperson of the jury for the awards. Films like Kalki 2898 AD, Committee Kurrollu and Lucky Baskhar emerged as the leading winners this year. Nag Ashwin won the Best Director award for Kalki 2898 AD. Additionally, the award for Best Book on Telugu Cinema was awarded to noted film historian Rentala Jayadeva for his book Mana Cinema First Reel. Addressing the media, Jayasudha said, 'It's a great relief to be finally able to organise these awards after 14 years. The government gave us complete freedom in the selection of these award recipients. Even within the jury, there were no arguments and we unanimously arrived at the list of winners.'

Hyderabad, May 29 (UNI) After a gap of nearly 14 years, the Telangana government has announced the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards 2024 to promote the Telugu film industry. The awards were jointly announced during a press conference held at Samachar Bhave, AC Guards, Masabtank, here on Thursday by Telangana State Film Development Corporation (FDC) Chairman and producer Dil Raju and senior actress Jayasudha, who served as the jury chairperson., The Best Feature Film Award was won by Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, who also received the Best Director Award. Pottel was awarded Second Best Feature Film, and Lucky Baskar received the Third Best Feature Film award. In the acting categories, Allu Arjun won Best Actor for his performance in Pushpa 2, while Nivetha Thomas (credited for 35 – Idi Chinna Katha Kadu) won Best Actress. Other major awardees include: Best Supporting Actor: S. J. In addition to the competitive categories, special honorary awards were also announced in the names of legendary figures such as N T Rama Rao, Paidi Jairaj, B. N. Reddy, Nagireddy–Chakrapani, Kantha Rao, and Raghupathi Venkaiah. Gaddar film awards on June 14
Hyderabad: The Congress govt has decided to present Gaddar Telangana Film Awards at HICC, Izzatnagar, near Madhapur on June 14. Deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka told a curtain-raiser media conference here on Tuesday that the Congress state govt would promote not only Telugu cinema but also Urdu films. The jury evaluation f commenced for the awards instituted by state govt in the name of revolutionary poet and balladeer Gaddar, who passed away in 2023. Chief minister A Revanth Reddy had announced last year that the Nandi Awards for excellence in Telugu cinema would be revived and renamed after Gaddar. The awards were revived after a gap of 14 years. The govt said the awards were its commitment to celebrate Telangana's vibrant cultural identity. Cinematography minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Telangana Film Development Corporation chairman Dil Raju, and veteran actress Jayasudha, who heads jury, were present at ceremony. The official entries and nominations comprising 76 film submissions and 1,172 individual applications were handed over to Jayasudha. Applications were invited for films certified by the Censor Board in 2024, in 11 categories. tnn
