South Range wins 6th straight District Championship
DALTON, Ohio (WKBN) – The South Range softball team claimed its 6th consecutive District Championship with a 12-5 win over Wooster Triway Wednesday night in Dalton.
The Raiders, a 6-seed in the Division V playoffs this year, jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning.
Senior Jayli Wilt homered in the 3rd, and freshman Sophia Brogan connected on a 2-run bomb in the 4th to give South Range a 10-4 lead.
The Raiders, who finished as the Division III State Runner-Up last season, improve to 21-9 overall this year. They will now advance to the Division V Regional Semifinals next week.
The Titans finish their season at 18-7.
