'Menassah' advances Emirati literature in India and Saudi Arabia
New Delhi International Book Fair 2025 After nine days of cultural engagement at the New Delhi International Book Fair 2025, an event that brought together leading publishers and authors from across the globe. Menassah is preparing to embark on a new chapter in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by participating in the inaugural Jazan Book Fair, a new platform for cultural dialogue and the promotion of reading. Menassah has successfully concluded its participation at the New Delhi International Book Fair 2025, held at the New International Convention and Exhibition Centre in the Indian capital from 1 to 9 February. The company showcased and sold an exceptional collection of Emirati books at its dedicated stand, featuring 82 publishers participating and 305 different titles on display, totalling 1,086 books. 1,027 titles Building on its success in New Delhi, Menassah will participate in the first edition of the Jazan Book Fair 2025 in Saudi Arabia. This fair is a significant literary and cultural event aimed at fostering a reading culture and enriching the literary landscape of the region. Menassah's stand will feature around 1,027 titles from the latest publications of 101 local publishers, amounting to a total of 3,840 books. The participation reflects Menassah's ongoing commitment to promoting Arab culture Commenting on these participations, His Excellency Rashid Al Kous, General Manager of Menassah Distribution Company, stated: 'Our participation in such major cultural events reflects Menassah's ongoing commitment to promoting Arab culture and strengthening literary and cultural exchange between nations, in line with the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah and its cultural and civilisational goals. Our mission is to support Emirati and Arab publishers and authors, expanding their reach beyond the local market.' He added: 'Our presence at the New Delhi International Book Fair was a unique opportunity to elevate Emirati literature on the global stage. Saudi Arabia Launches First Jazan Book Fair
As part of the Jazan Winter Season, Saudi Arabia's Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission is currently organizing the first Jazan Book Fair, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Set to run until Feb. 17 at the Prince Sultan Cultural Center, the book fair represents an integral part of a promising program designed to spread the concept of book fairs across the Kingdom. The event features major local, regional as well as Arab publishing houses, and a diverse cultural program. It boasts various sections and pavilions, such as a children's area with activities in writing, storytelling, theater and animation, alongside interactive and cultural events. The fair will also hold over 250 events, for instance, lectures, seminars and workshops by Saudi and international experts. Interestingly, the event has dedicated a special section for traditional crafts to celebrate the Year of Handicrafts. By boosting knowledge and local publishing industry, the fair aligns with the Kingdom's cultural movement and Vision 2030 goals, according to Commission CEO Abdullatif Al-Wasel. Al-Wasel also underscored the commission's dedication to displaying Jazan's cultural heritage. The fair opens daily from 11 a.m. to midnight, except on Fridays, when it opens from 2 p.m. to midnight. Jazan Book Fair celebrates arts and literature
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia's Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission launched the first Jazan Book Fair on Tuesday as part of the Jazan Winter Season. Held at the Prince Sultan Cultural Center until Feb. 17, the event is part of a program to expand book fairs across the Kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Commission CEO Abdullatif Al-Wasel said that the fair supports the Kingdom's cultural movement and Vision 2030 goals by promoting knowledge, creativity and the local publishing industry. He also highlighted the commission's commitment to showcasing Jazan's rich cultural heritage, the SPA reported. The fair features major local, regional and Arab publishing houses, alongside a diverse cultural program. It includes a discounted book section, a children's area with activities in writing, storytelling, theater and animation, as well as interactive and cultural events. More than 250 events, including lectures, seminars and workshops by Saudi as well as international experts will be held. In celebration of the Year of Handicrafts, the fair has a special section dedicated to traditional crafts, highlighting their cultural significance and preservation. The fair is open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight, except on Fridays, when it opens from 2 p.m. to midnight.
