Spartanburg plane crash: 2 hilled, how the accident happened, and the questions it raises
Synopsis A plane crashed near the South Carolina-North Carolina border on June 14. The plane departed from Spartanburg Downtown Airport en route to Myrtle Beach. Two individuals from Spartanburg County died in the incident. The aircraft, identified as N82UC, belonged to Majesty Air, Inc. Radar lost contact with the plane near Tabor City, North Carolina. The plane was a twin-engine Beechcraft flying from Spartanburg to Grand Strand Airport in North Myrtle Beach. The plane had last flown the same route on June 2. The plane's tail number N82UC is registered to Majesty Air, Inc., based in Wilmington, Delaware, as per reports. Majesty Air was set up in July 2022, and the plane was built in 1972. It took 2 hours and a helicopter to find the crash site near Old Dothan Road, said Tabor City Fire Chief Jeff Fowler, as per the report by WSPA. A pilot helping with the search said, 'I got some smoke in the trees at my nine o'clock' The plane reached 6,850 feet by 11:45 a.m. and disappeared from radar at 12:44 p.m. Aviation expert Robert Katz said the crash might have been avoidable if the pilot had taken a more cautious approach, as per the News13 report.
