Orange City hosts the 84th Annual Tulip Festival

ORANGE CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — From wooden clogs to traditional attire and authentic food, the Tulip Festival has something for everyone. The festival highlights Dutch heritage, from the clothes to the food, to all the different entertainment. Folks can watch a parade, street scrubbing, Dutch dancing, carnival rides and much more. Organizers said their favorite part of the festival is watching the community come together for such a fun event. 'There is a lot to take pride in here, and I think that those that volunteer, which are numerous amount of people that volunteer it takes a lot of people to put this on,' said Todd Vande Griend, the Grand Marshal for the Orange City Tulip Festival. 'I think that's very evident when you come to town.' I just love seeing the beautiful authentic costumes on display and seeing all the kids young and old participating in the event,' said Jennie Droog, the head of promotions for the Tulip Festival. Orange City preparing for 2025 Tulip Festival

ORANGE CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Orange City has been celebrating its Dutch heritage through a festival since 1936; the celebration is now known as the Tulip Festival. This year, the Orange City Tulip Festival begins on Thursday, May 15. Right now, the city is busy preparing for a celebration of their Dutch history. The festival features Dutch music and dancing performed by children and adults in authentic clothing, parades, delicacies, and of course, tulips. Organizers said they're excited for all the fun activities that everyone can participate in during the three-day extravaganza. Crittenton Center receives $30K for Orange City development 'I always say there is something for everyone at the Tulip Festival,' said Jennie Droog, the head of promotions for the Tulip Festival. 'Whether you are a family with young kiddos or you're some of our older population, there really is a wide variety of events, and everything at the Tulip Festival is up to you of what you want to take in and participate in.'
