Picture: Alan Chau / The West Australian The Town of Claremont's Council Chambers have been transformed into a sprawling art gallery for the next two weeks, showcasing the best of the 2025 Art Awards & Exhibition which will run until August 22. Winners were announced at the official launch on Friday, which celebrated the creative works of local and regionally based artists from as far as Geraldton and Dwellingup. First place was awarded to Kim Chapel for her oil painting titled Family, with second handed to Jennifer Cochrane for her Sleeper self-portrait. Binding art with the community, the biennial exhibition champions emerging and professional artists through the $10,000 prize pool.
