The 6-foot-4, 265-pound Martin is entering his third NFL season since being signed as an undrafted free agent by Cleveland after the 2023 draft. He spent last season on practice squads for three teams: the Browns, New York Giants and Green Bay. Martin played college football for five seasons between 2018 and 2022, three with Texas A&M and two with Washington. Dekkers, signed as an undrafted rookie following a tryout after last spring's draft, has now been waived twice since the beginning of training camp. He's been the Saints' lone left-handed QB but did not appear in New Orleans' preseason opener last weekend against the Chargers in Los Angeles. Dekkers was among four QBs on the roster for that game, along with Spencer Rattler, who started the game; second-round draft choice Tyler Shough; and 2023 fourth-round draft choice Jake Haener. Packers release DE Jeremiah Martin to make room for rookie WR signing The Green Bay Packers released first-year defensive end Jeremiah Martin to make room for rookie receiver Sam Brown Jr., who was signed to the team's 90-man offseason roster on Thursday. Martin, 25, signed to the Packers practice squad in December of last year. He was retained with a futures deal in January. An injury might have played a role in his release; Martin wasn't available to practice with the team during Wednesday's OTA session open to the media. Martin went undrafted out of Washington in 2023. He spent time with the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants before signing with the Packers last year. In 2024, Martin played in three preseason games with the Browns before being released. The Packers needed the roster spot to sign Brown, a college teammate of Matthew Golden at Houston who spent his final season at Miami in 2024. He went undrafted in the 2025 draft. The Packers now have 13 wide receivers on the 90-man roster. More on Brown here.
