Who does Duke basketball play next in the 2025 NCAA Tournament? Sweet 16 bracket update

Who does Duke basketball play next in the 2025 NCAA Tournament? Sweet 16 bracket update The Duke Blue Devils took down a friendly face in the second round of men's NCAA Tournament, vanquishing former captain Jeremy Roach and the Baylor Bears on Sunday, but a less welcome familiar foe awaits in the regional semifinal. Thanks to an 87-83 victory over the Oregon Ducks on Sunday night, the Arizona Wildcats advanced to the East region semifinal to set up another postseason battle with former North Carolina Tar Heels star Caleb Love. Love, who spent three seasons in Chapel Hill before transferring to Arizona, and Thursday will be his 10th career battle against the Blue Devils. He's only faced Duke once in during March Madness: UNC's infamous Final Four victory in legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski's final season, when Love scored 28 points. Here's a full look at Duke's next NCAA Tournament matchup. Who does Duke basketball play next in March Madness? The Blue Devils will play the Arizona Wildcats on Thursday night. Duke beat the Wildcats on the road back in November, a 69-55 victory powered by 24 points from Flagg and a 43-30 rebounding disparity in the Blue Devils' favor. Duke basketball vs Arizona game time The Blue Devils and Wildcats will play at approximately 9:40 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday, March 27. Duke's game will follow the Alabama Crimson Tigers and BYU Cougars, the other Sweet 16 matchup in the East region. Where to watch Duke basketball vs. Arizona Duke's next game will broadcast on CBS with Brian Anderson, Jim Jackson, and Allie LaForce on the call. Blue Devils fans can stream the game on FUBO, which offers a free trial for new subscribers, or through Paramount+. Watch Duke vs. Arizona on FUBO Watch Duke vs. Arizona on Paramount+ Duke basketball vs Arizona prediction Arizona is admittedly in some great form, winning five of its last six games and leading the No. 1 seed Houston Cougars in the other, but the Wildcats lost five of their last eight regular-season games before that. It's worth some alarm that Arizona is 22/45 (48.9%) from 3-point range in the tournament thus far and 59/136 (43.4%) over its last seven games after a below-average shooting season, but the Wildcats probably need to stay on that same pace for an upset. Duke's size and perimeter shooting will win out, but the last first half and early second half could feel tense. Opening odds and earl prediction for Sunday's Duke vs Baylor March Madness game

Opening odds and earl prediction for Sunday's Duke vs Baylor March Madness game The Duke Blue Devils took down Mount St. Mary's in typical No. 1 seed fashion during the first round of the men's NCAA Tournament on Friday, setting up a showdown with the Baylor Bears and former Duke captain Jeremy Roach for a spot in the Sweet 16. With Friday's 44-point win over the Mountaineers, the Blue Devils have now won eight of their last 12 games by at least 30 points and two of the other four by double-digits, one of the most dominant runs of form in the sport's recent history. The Bears appeared to be treading water after the Big 12 Conference Tournament, bowing out of the quarterfinals to close the season with 10 losses in their last 18 games, but Baylor found a way to beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs to punch its ticket to the second round. Here's a look at the opening odds for that game and our early prediction. Duke basketball vs Baylor game odds: All college basketball odds via BetMGM Spread: Duke -11.5 Money Line: Duke -700 / Baylor +500 Over-Under: 144.5 Duke basketball vs Baylor prediction, pick: The Bears notched an impressive win in the opening round, but the Blue Devils looked completely flawless. Sure, it was against a 16-seed, but freshman superstar Cooper Flagg looked explosive and uninhibited by his sprained ankle and Tyrese Proctor kept his hot streak going from beyond the arc. Duke rolls to a comfortable cover. Prediction: Duke 82, Baylor 59 Get more betting analysis and predictions at Sportsbook Wire.

Duke cruises in Cooper Flagg's return

Yahoo Sports' Jason Fitz and basketball analyst Isis 'Ice' Young react to the Blue Devils' 93-49 win over Mount Saint Mary's in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. View more Mount Saint Mary's made the NCAA tournament, which is in and of itself fabulous, but when he got to take on Duke, we all know who that, how this was gonna end. Duke absolutely slams him, but ice young Jason Fitz as we break this down. Ice, this game was all about Cooper Flagg, who was back for Duke in the first round, even though some of us wondered if he would be there. Yeah, I mean, it's so good to see him on the court and playing. He played 22 minutes, and that was right around what I thought he was going to play, coming back from this ankle injury and getting back on the floor. Obviously you see the numbers there, and so he looked pretty good, pretty confident. I didn't see him favoring one way or another, but you want a game where he can get back in rhythm and Duke can really establish. themselves as a number one seed. I thought that in this game, they just look like themselves. How they ran through the ACC. They ran through Mount Saint Mary's scoring in transition, knocking down threes, got good minutes out of Procter and Nala Wa, and that's what it's gonna take for this team as the number one seed to continue to advance is a number of players stepping up and it's not just being about Cooper flag. OK, but now in the 2nd round they get Baylor, a little bit of a revenge game for Jeremy Roach, but uh, how do they match up with Baylor in your mind? Yeah, I think this is a good matchup. One, because Baylor right now is playing a fun style. They put up some good numbers today in their win versus Mississippi State. You mentioned Jeremy Roach, but Langston Love, VJ Edgecombe, I mean, some of these guys are very experienced. They played in tournament games before. I think it'll challenge Duke defensively to see if they can stop these guys from getting a piece of the paint. On the other side for Bayer though, do they have enough in terms of offensive weapons to compete with Duke? I don't think so. I still see Duke getting through this game, but it makes for a very interesting second round. Yeah, what we know is all eyes will be on that ankle every single time Cooper Flag takes the court. Q&A: Baylor's Darianna Littlepage-Buggs on her funniest insect-related NIL deal

Q&A: Baylor's Darianna Littlepage-Buggs on her funniest insect-related NIL deal Baylor Bears guard Darianna Littlepage Buggs has one of the most clever NIL deals in college basketball. Littlepage-Buggs is in her third season with the Baylor program and has earned several notable honors while under head coach Nicki Collen, including Big 12 Freshman of the Year and All-Big 12 Honorable Mention. The junior guard and her Bears teammates want to add another accolade to their resumé: national champions. To do that, Baylor has to squash the competition with an elite defense, something Littlepage Buggs knows about through her fitting NIL deal with Raid. The partnership, which has been going strong with NIL campaigns for two seasons, has catapulted Littlepage-Buggs and Baylor men's basketball player Jeremy Roach to the top of the list for the best NIL deals that perfectly play on words. Still, Littlepage-Buggs admits that she was nervous about joining the Raid family. "I didn't know how people were gonna take it," Littlepage-Buggs shared with For The Win. "So, I was kind of like, 'I don't want my name to be related to bugs...' But ... on the brighter side, I'm also like, 'This is a cool opportunity as well.' So, I think just through partnering with them, it's also made me love my name even more." Before the women's March Madness tournament, For The Win chatted with Littlepage-Buggs about her perfect insect-themed NIL deal, what she learned about herself after returning from injury, and the wildest things Baylor has played in the locker room to get hyped for a game. What do people think when you tell them about your NIL deal? They're initially like, "What?" And I'm like, "Yeah ..." As I further explain [more] ... "Oh. BUGS! I get it ..." Then, they usually watch the videos, and they're like, "Oh my Gosh. This is so cool!" A lot of people ― they really love it. I'm pretty sure their initial l reaction isn't like, "Ugh, bugs ..." I honestly feel like the people love it at first sight. In your latest March Madness campaign, how did you and Jeremy Roach keep a straight face when bug jokes are flying? Oh, man. It was fun. This is our first time doing it together. He was at Duke last year and then transferred here this year, so that was a plus for us. I think it just made the process even smoother, and it was just fun to do ... I had a really good time, and honestly and truly, I think when it comes down to it, you do have to be serious. But it was really hard ... Sometimes you tend to just say your lines and then you're kind of just like, "Okay, what's next?" I think that was the hardest part because you have to stay in it. And there was some eye contact ... It was a little awkward, but I think we just made it work and didn't make it so much about awkwardness ― but just made it more fun. What makes Baylor such a dangerous NCAA tournament team? We have depth. Everybody could score ― inside and out. So, it's kind of like playing as honest. I think that's just our biggest strength ... You take away one thing: we have more things. And then eventually, it's just, "Okay, we'll have to play honest because I'm not sure who's gonna just go off and score." I think that's just the beauty of our team. There's a lot of versatility. You recently came back from injury. What did you learn about yourself while away from the court? The first thing I really noticed was ― I know I've always been loved, but one thing for me that was even better was actually seeing it and honestly cherishing it ... I honestly and truly felt the love to such a great extent, and I absolutely love that. I think that played a great role in my recovery process because it helped me keep my mind off of my injury and just [say], "Oh, okay. You know, there's people that love you ..." I also say just patience and gratefulness ... I can't take anything for granted... I am able to come back, and that's not everybody's situation. But just being grateful. I do get to come back, and I do get to practice. I do get to run. I do get to shoot hoops ... You know, all that just made me even more grateful. Let's do some fun questions. Which of your Baylor teammates is responsible for being the locker room DJ? Kyla Abraham. She's putting on the music every time. I don't know what we're playing. We can be sad. We can be hyped. We can be in the middle ... There's been a couple of times you listen to Gracie's Corner ... Kyla is definitely on the aux ... I think there was a time when we're listening to... I think the veggie song. I don't know. We just went in there and vibed. Who is your favorite WNBA player to watch? Breanna Stewart. She's awesome. I've been watching her since middle school, and just hearing her story, I feel like I relate to her a lot ... She said she plays some positions just because she's tall. She struggled and trying to figure out what she's best at. But then, you know, going to UConn and just flourishing from there. I just love her versatility and the way she uses her length. I think that's something that I really admire. Because it's like, "Okay, I'm tall, but I can't, I can't be a little guard because I'm not a little guard. I'm a big guard. So, I need to use my big guard skills ― But knowing that you gotta play me honest, and I can shoot the ball. I can go get a bucket, but I can also be a great teammate.

Baylor guard Jeremy Roach eyes potential Round 2 March Madness rematch with his former team Duke

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Jeremy Roach couldn't help but chuckle when the NCAA Tournament bracket was announced. Roach, who spent four seasons at Duke before transferring to Baylor last April, faces the prospect of an intriguing second-round matchup against his former team on Sunday. The ninth-seeded Bears face Mississippi State on Friday with the winner likely to take on No. 1 ranked Duke, providing the Blue Devils get past 16 seed Mount St. Mary's. 'The committee always likes to bring a story into it,' Roach said. Roach was an integral part of the Blue Devils' recent success, helping Duke reach the Final Four three years ago and the Elite 8 last year before a stunning loss to Atlantic Coast Conference rival and 11 seed North Carolina State — a defeat that he said still bothers him. That loss, in part, prompted Duke coach Jon Scheyer to overhaul the roster, one that is n ow built around freshman sensation Cooper Flagg. After flirting with going to the NBA, Roach transferred to Baylor for his final year of eligibility, despite averaging 14 points per game last season and shooting 43% from beyond the arc. Now Roach is back at the Lenovo Center — on the campus of NC State — about a 25-minute drive to Duke's campus. The 6-foot-2 guard said he still follows Duke (31-3) closely and keeps in touch with former teammate Tyrese Proctor. 'They have had a great season,' Roach said of the ACC champions. 'They are tough physical team, a big team and they can switch one through five and go zone. They can shoot the lights out. They have a bunch of guys.' Roach doesn't appear to hold any grudges against Duke or Scheyer. In the end, he said it was time for a change and said he's enjoyed playing for Baylor, although it has been a frustrating season for him in many respects. He's suffered through two concussions, sidelining him for seven games. And his numbers are down across the board, averaging 10.3 points per game while shooting just 35% from 3-point range. Baylor was predicted to be a national title contender, but injuries across the board have intervened and the Bears have lost six of their last 10 games. 'It's been an up and down season, but everyone is staying strong and staying connected,' Roach said. 'But I feel like we are all coming together. We have had a lot of injuries. It's been an up and down battle. It's tough sometimes but I think we are playing our best basketball.' Coach Scott Drew said he believes that the NCAA Tournament experience of Roach and Miami transfer Norchad Omier will greatly benefit his team in March Madness. 'You've got guys that have won in March and know what it takes, know what it's about, and Jeremy and Norchad are two guys that are not scared of any moment and a blessing to coach,' Drew said. While Roach insists all of his attention is on No. 8 seed Mississippi State, he knows what potentially lies ahead. 'I'm excited for that potential matchup, too," Roach said. ___ AP March Madness bracket: and coverage: Get poll alerts and updates on the AP Top 25 throughout the season. Sign up here.
