Seth Jones Finds Himself In Stanley Cup Final Following Trade From Blackhawks

Former Canadiens Player Might Have Played His Last Game With The Hurricanes Since the Carolina Hurricanes signed Montreal Canadiens former player Jesperi Kotkaniemi for a $6.1 million offer sheet in the Summer of 2021, plenty has been written about the centerman, but it has rarely been positive. Earlier in the Eastern Conference final, the soon-to-be 25-year-old was scratched for a couple of games.

Multiple Lineup Adjustments In Consideration For Carolina Hurricanes Ahead Of Game 3

The Carolina Hurricanes are potentially looking to shake things up for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final following their embarrassing 5-0, Game 2 loss at the hands of the Florida Panthers. The big news coming out of the Canes' morning skate was that Pyotr Kochetkov is going to be between the pipes in place of Frederik Andersen. The Russian rookie played in majority of the Hurricanes' regular season games this season. Carolina Hurricanes To Make Big Change For Game 3 The Carolina Hurricanes are looking to shake things up for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final as they try to overcome a 2-0 series hole against the Florida Panthers. After sitting out Game 2, Finnish center Jesperi Kotkaniemi also looks to be back in the lineup and once again centering the team's second line alongside Taylor Hall and Logan Stankoven. Kotkaniemi played at the 2C position for the majority of the season this year, but saw himself demoted midway through the team's second-round series against the Washington Capitals. Jack Roslovic, who had been serving as the team's 2C for the last few games, appears to be the odd-man out. The Canes are also dealing with some potential question marks on the blueline as well. Veteran defenseman Jalen Chatfield's absence has been a tough one for the Hurricanes to deal with and he'll once again be out for a fourth straight game. Not only is he out though, but the team may potentially be without Sean Walker as well. The right-handed defenseman has really stepped up for Carolina this postseason, but is now a game-time decision after he absorbed an awkward hit in Game 2 that saw him miss some time as he was being evaluated in the locker room. Rookie Scott Morrow is already slated to go in place of Chatfield, but if Walker can't suit up, Russian rookie blueliner Alexander Nikishin will be back in the lineup. Is Mark Jankowski An Option For Game 2?

The Carolina Hurricanes fell 5-2 to the Florida Panthers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final Tuesday night at Lenovo Center. It was a disappointing result for the team, but is it one that could prompt some changes for Game 2? When asked about potential line tweaks to try and find more finish, Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour pushed back on the thought. "There's a fine line and I don't know what changing lines would do," Brind'Amour said on Wednesday. "You have to figure out how the game's going and then make your adjustments from there. Like I said, I didn't mind the game. I liked large parts of it. We're playing the best team and so we know it's going to be hard to get our chances." However, what was notable was that the team had an optional skate on Thursday morning and Mark Jankowski was not taking part in it while Jesperi Kotkaniemi was. Jankowski played just three games for Carolina this postseason before getting injured in Game 1 of the second-round series against the Washington Capitals. The 6-foot-4 centerman is a strong depth option for the team, with his crazy scoring touch, good faceoff numbers and ability to play on the penalty kill. Kotkaniemi on the other hand has just three points this series, a sub 50% faceoff win rate and hasn't scored a goal since February 1. He's been fine, playing a good defensive game and bringing a bit of physicality, but he certainly hasn't been a difference maker at all. Brind'Amour said Mark Jankowski is 100% healthy now and he could be an option for the team tonight. "He's been a consideration for probably the last three or four games, I think," Brind'Amour said. "So he's ready to go if I decide to use him." Be sure to check out the Carolina Hurricanes 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs Hub for all postseason stories! Hurricanes take Game 1 over Devils 4-1

(AP Photo/Karl DeBlaker) RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Logan Stankoven scored two second-period goals in his first playoff game with Carolina as the Hurricanes beat the New Jersey Devils 4-1 on Sunday to open their first-round series in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Jalen Chatfield scored a first-period goal for the Hurricanes, who carried a 3-0 lead late into the second period and kept consistent pressure on Devils netminder Jacob Markstrom. Andrei Svechnikov added an empty-net clincher late in the third. Advertisement Frederik Andersen finished with 23 saves for Carolina, including a key stop on Timo Meier near the crease midway through the third. The Hurricanes also turned away a Devils power play with about eight minutes left to stay in firm control. Nico Hischier got New Jersey on the board by taking Jesper Bratt's cross-ice pass and blasting the puck past Andersen during a 4-on-4 chance. Markstrom finished with 41 saves on what turned out to be a rough afternoon physically for the Devils, who saw defenseman Brenden Dillon skating to the tunnel in the second period, then fellow blue-liner Luke Hughes and forward Cody Glass skating off after a single chaotic sequence in the third. It was a quality start for Carolina, which had lost seven of its last eight regular-season games since clinching its seventh straight playoff trip on April 3. In that sense, it had been a long wait to get to the playoffs — and be healthy, at that — for the Hurricanes. Advertisement Carolina finished with a 45-24 shot advantage. MAPLE LEAFS 6, SENATORS 2 TORONTO (AP) — Mitch Marner had a goal and two assists as Toronto beat Ottawa in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series. William Nylander and John Tavares each had a goal and an assist, and Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Morgan Rielly and Matthew Knies also scored for Toronto. Auston Matthews added two assists and Anthony Stolarz stopped 31 shots. Drake Batherson and Ridly Greig scored for Ottawa, and Linus Ullmark finished with 18 saves. The best-of-seven matchup continues Tuesday with Game 2 at Scotiabank Arena before shifting to Ottawa for two games.
