MY ADVENTURES OF GREEN LANTERN Reportedly to Spotlight a Young Jessica Cruz — GeekTyrant
Fans of My Adventures With Superman might not have to wait long before diving into another corner of the DC Universe. With showrunner confirmation that post-production on Season 3 is wrapped, the animated series is set to return with its heartfelt and action-packed take on the Man of Steel. But the real surprise is the spinoff, My Adventures With Green Lantern , which could bring the Emerald Knights back to animation in a big way. According to a report from Next Point News, the series will focus on Jessica Cruz, an Earth-based member of the Green Lantern Corps. But, unlike her comic book incarnation, an adult hero who joined the ranks well after Hal Jordan , John Stewart , Guy Gardner , and Kyle Rayner , Jessica will reportedly be reimagined as a 14–15-year-old high school student. She won't be flying solo, either. The same report suggests that Kyle Rayner will appear as a 'love interest' for Jessica, though it's unclear whether this version of Kyle will wield a ring of his own. The cast of characters doesn't stop there. Nikki Jones, a deep-cut DC character who gained superpowers from Lex Luthor , will reportedly have a supporting role. The series will also feature Alex DeWitt, Kyle Rayner's tragic girlfriend from the comics who was killed by Major Force early in his career. While her inclusion raises questions about how the show will handle that storyline, it opens the door for emotional beats beyond the usual Corps action. One character who feels like a natural fit is Kilowog, the gruff drill sergeant of the Green Lantern Corps. He's rumored to be Jessica's teacher in the series—mirroring his long-standing role in the comics. No release date has been announced for My Adventures With Green Lantern , but with the DC Universe's momentum this summer, largely thanks to My Adventures With Superman , fans are already eager to see the Corps shine on screen. If you watched the series, you might recall that the groundwork for this spinoff was subtly laid in My Adventures With Superman Season 2. During Clark's intense battle with Brainiac , the villain unleashed a wave of captured alien combatants, one of which was a Green Lantern. While that character wasn't identified as anyone from the comics, it confirmed that the Adult Swim series operates in a vast DC Universe where the Corps is already active. If these reports hold true, My Adventures With Green Lantern could give fans a fresh, character-driven look at the Corps while expanding the animated DCU in exciting ways.

Animated Green Lantern Show Gets Production & Plot Update
A casting call for shares some new plot information about the animated DC series. It was announced in February 2025 that a My Adventures with Green Lantern show was in development from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation. The show is said to be 'younger-skewing' and was announced at the same time as two other DC animated shows: DC Super Powers and Starfire. Shortly after the announcement, executive producer Jake Wyatt confirmed that the show will be set in the same universe as My Adventures with Superman, which premiered on Adult Swim in 2023 and features Jack Quaid as the voice of Clark Kent. 'My Adventures with Green Lantern will follow high school student Jessica Cruz, who has her life upended when a Green Lantern Power Ring falls from the sky and chooses Cruz to be its champion. Things get even worse when more debris from the Lanterns' ancient space war arrives – along with their alien foes,' the logline for the show reads. What is the My Adventures With Green Lantern update? Per Knight Edge Media, a casting call has gone out for the Jessica Cruz role. DC is looking for someone 18 or older to play the character, who will be between the ages of 14 and 15. 'This role will sing in the series, looking for talent who can sing. Jessica had a normal childhood: she played softball, hung out with her best friends Kyle and Nikki, and stayed out of trouble,' the casting call further reads. 'But Jess' life collapsed when everyone around her hit puberty and got mean. Betrayed by friends and bullied out of softball, Jess withdrew. Better to be small and safe than to be yourself and get hurt. We meet Jess at the top of high school: a chronically anxious freshman who starts the year hoping to keep her head down and get by…but who ends up being chosen by a magic ring to be the cosmic champion of all life – the Green Lantern. Despite her fear, anxiety, and her low opinion of herself, Jess will find that she does have the tenacity and courage to meet this challenge, to become the world's greatest hero.' A premiere date for My Adventures with Green Lantern has not yet been announced. Originally reported by Brandon Schreur at SuperHeroHype. Review – Green Lantern Corps #6: Trouble on Mogo
Green Lantern Corps #6 cover, via DC Comics. Ray: One of the best things about this book is that there's really no limit to what kind of partnerships can emerge out of each issue, as each mission requires a different skill set. Jessica Cruz deputizes the crews, but there's a twist this issue – she's on the first mission herself, as Jo Mullein convinces her she needs to leave the office once in a while. That takes them straight to Mogo, where the sprawling living planet has turned into a volcanic mess as it tries to repair the damage done to it in the battle with the United Planets. What ensues is a fascinating look into how Mogo's biology works, as it generates its own defenses out of its ruptured crust. But it's also a great look into how Jessica Cruz's battle to become a Green Lantern has given her a unique form of compassion – and it's great to see a run actually acknowledge how far she's come, while most adaptations just paper it over. New light. Via DC Comics. The second story is just as unexpected, as Sinestro is deputized to search for Nth Metal in the ruins of Korugar to rebuild the Central Power Batteries for the other Corps. But he doesn't find ruins there – he finds the Sinister Sons. His son, Sinson, has led a powerful campaign to rebuild Korugar, with Lor-Zod as his collaborator. And the two aren't willing to let the planet be strip-mined for someone else's needs. Sinestro wasn't exactly a good father when he met Sinson, and he hasn't been to his daughter Soranik, but there are some really interesting things in this issue that show that his decision to return to the Green Lantern Corps for the latest time may be genuine. Sinestro has always been someone who prized order rather than any cliched version of 'Evil', and there's certainly a lot of chaos out there – like Starbreaker, whose event is kicking off at the end of the month.
