Jessica gets her wish to become an Unduk Ngadau at PCAKK.
KOTA KINABALU (Aug 7): A lifelong dream came true for 16-year-old Jessica Magdalena Jaimus, an end-stage renal failure patient, when she was crowned an Unduk Ngadau on Thursday.
The special moment took place at the Palliative Care Association of Kota Kinabalu (PCAKK) centre, where she was crowned by the 2025 Sabah-level Unduk Ngadau winner, Atitih Yati Robert.
Jessica, who hails from Kampung Butong, Tamparuli, described the experience as one of the happiest moments of her life.
'This has been one of my lifelong dreams,' said Jessica, who is also an avid reader of novels.
'I am truly happy today as my wish to become an Unduk Ngadau queen has come true.
'I am also very happy to meet Tina (Rebecca O'Connor) and hear her powerful performance. This is the first time I've heard her songs, and it was really good.'
The heartwarming event was part of PCAKK's ongoing efforts to bring comfort, joy and dignity to patients in their care.
