Jessica Tarlov drew laughs with a snappy response to Greg Gutfeld's question about the president's poor polling.

Fox News host Jessica Tarlov had a succinct explanation for why President Donald Trump's latest poll numbers on immigration are among his worst ever: he's bad at being president. Tarlov, The Five's resident liberal, summed up Trump's troubles on what he has long portrayed as one of his strongest issues. 'His approval rating on immigration ranges from minus 27 in Gallup to minus 19 at CNN, and minus 15 in the new Quinnipiac poll that's out today,' Tarlov began, adding that polls also show Trump being underwater on deportations, 'which was one of his key promises.'

Fox News Host Shuts Down 'Disgusting Lie' About Her Family Amid Attacks From MAGA

Fox News host Jessica Tarlov slammed a 'disgusting lie' about her family that was posted on social media this week. And one licensed mental health counselor said that the attacks on Tarlov shed light on a common 'deeply misogynistic' attack. Tarlov, the resident Democrat on Fox News show 'The Five,' responded to a post on X that accused her of infidelity. 'Jessica slept with her current husband (right) while still married to her first husband (left),' read the post from an X account called 'Bad Hombre.' The post featured a photo of Tarlov with her husband, Brian McKenna, and one of their two children. 'Lollll absolutely not true,' Tarlov wrote. 'But appreciate [you] covering my baby's face - respectful even as you spread a disgusting lie.' Tarlov faced waves of right-wing backlash after she called out the GOP on X on Thursday for purporting to champion 'family values' amid news that Texas state Sen. Angela Paxton (R) filed for divorce from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Angela Paxton said in a statement that she filed for divorce after nearly four decades of marriage on 'biblical grounds' and in light of 'recent discoveries.' Ken Paxton, who is currently campaigning in the Republican primary for a seat in the U.S. Senate, was previously accused of having an affair with a donor's employee during his 2023 state impeachment trial, in which he was acquitted of corruption charges. But Tarlov's critique as a political commentator, suggesting that the Republican Party's messaging on 'family values' is riddled with hypocrisy, sparked crude, misogynistic and derogatory personal attacks directed at her and her romantic relationships. Some X users responded to the liberal Fox News host by calling her a 'cheating whore,' a 'ho' and a 'home wrecker,' among other disparaging attacks. Hallie Kritsas, a licensed mental health counselor and therapist with Thriveworks who specializes in self-esteem, told HuffPost that the attacks on Tarlov serve as a 'clear example of how women in the public eye, especially in politics or commentary, are often targeted in deeply gendered ways.' 'For women, especially those who are outspoken, often others undermine their credibility through personal or sexualized attacks,' she said. Kritsas said that attacking women for being unfaithful in their relationships — whether it's true or not — or criticizing them for having multiple sexual partners, seems to be a common line of attack that's 'deeply misogynistic.' 'This is especially as it is a move that works to discredit, shame or control them. These accusations seem to do little with the actual truth and more to do with reinforcing gendered power dynamics. It also punishes women for autonomy or any perceived independence,' she said. Kritsas said that society tends to be harsher on women for both actual and perceived infidelity. 'And even when accusations are unfounded, women can still face intense judgment and shame in ways that men typically do not,' she said. 'Culturally, it is expected that women are to be the emotional and moral anchors in relationships and to be loyal and nurturing. So when they 'deviate,' away from it, it can trigger a backlash in society.' Overall, Kritsas explained that instances of infidelity with men tend to be 'downplayed' or 'normalized.' And that's due to 'a double standard that comes from longstanding gender norms and patriarchal ideas equating women's value with her sexual behavior and loyalty.' The imbalance in expectations among men and women is reflected in the way society seeks to control women's bodies and their choices, she added. Fox News' Jessica Tarlov Calls Out Co-Host Jesse Watters' Hypocrisy Over Texas Flood On-Air

Jessica Tarlov is not letting Jesse Watters' hypocrisy surrounding the Texas floods and 2024's Hurricane Helene go unnoticed. Tarlov went after her 'The Five' co-host for not holding President Trump to the same standard regarding the Texas flood that he did when Hurricane Helene made landfall under the Biden administration. Particularly when it came to the lies Trump was peddling about FEMA in the aftermath of the September 2024 storm. 'And Just Like That' Accidentally Killed Off Lisa's Father Twice Megyn Kelly Understands Why People Feel 'Extremely Doubtful' of Trump Administration's Epstein List Denial | Video 'I don't think that talking about preparedness or what might have helped qualifies as impugning the memory of those that have been lost or detracting from the thoughtful conversation that needs to take place because this river has been flooding for a very long time,' Tarlov said. 'We were here around the table when hurricane Helene struck. I did not hear Jesse Watters saying that Donald Trump should stop spreading lies about the Biden administration and the FEMA funds.' She continued: 'Trump came out and he said 'they're giving your FEMA dollars to illegals, they're housing them with your FEMA dollars.' Then he said you're only going to get $750 from FEMA – which was a complete lie and there are Republican officials who have testified to the fact that people did not get their FEMA assistance because of what Trump and other Republicans were saying.' Tarlov concluded that GOP legislature rejected 'over $54 billion in identified needs in terms of disaster resistance' that could have helped mitigate the damage from the Texas floods. 'That is something that they can work on to move forward and hopefully avoid a tragedy like this again,' she finished. The flash flood disaster struck Texas over the Fourth of July weekend with a current death toll of more than 100, according to the Associated Press, including 27 campers and counselors from Camp Mystic. That number is expected to climb as officials continue to search for survivors amongst the devastation. 'We have been in communication with local and state authorities who are tirelessly deploying extensive resources to search for our missing girls,' Camp Mystic shared in a Monday statement. 'We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from community, first responders and officials at every level.' You can watch Tarlov's segment in the video above. Fox News Host Hits Republican Lawmakers With A Blunt Election Warning

Republican lawmakers on Thursday were in a jubilant mood as they marked the passage of President Donald Trump's signature 'big beautiful bill.' But Fox News host Jessica Tarlov said some of them might not be celebrating next year, when they could face unexpectedly early retirement. Polls show the bill ― which adds trillions to the debt, cuts taxes for the wealthy, and slashes Medicaid ― is deeply unpopular with the American public. With midterm elections looming in 2026, Tarlov ― a rotating co-host of 'The Five' ― wrote on X that moderate Republicans in particular will be at risk next year: By voting for this budget bill, many moderate Republicans are ensuring their retirement will come earlier than expected. — Jessica Tarlov (@JessicaTarlov) July 3, 2025 The bill is so unpopular that CNN data chief Harry Enten earlier this week showed it was underwater in five recent polls by between 19 and 29 percentage points. 'The American public at this particular point hate, hate, hate the 'big, beautiful bill,'' he said. 'As far as they're concerned, it's not a 'big, beautiful bill,' it's a big, bad bill.' Democrats also believe that Republicans who support the bill will pay the price at the polls next year. 'There are House Republicans now, this morning, who are about to sign their political obituary with this vote,' Representative Brendan Boyle (D-Pa.) told Reuters before the final votes were cast. 'They are literally walking the plank for Donald Trump.' The party that wins the White House often suffers in the midterm elections that follow. Former MSNBC host Chris Matthews expects that to be the case next year, as well, and said the passage of the bill won't make things any easier for Republicans. He estimated that Democrats could pick up between 15 and 20 seats ― more than enough to win control of the House.

Fox News host slams Trump's new perfume launch

A new Trump fragrance that the president is marketing as having the sweet smell of success is 'gross,' according to one Fox News commentator who isn't buying it. President Trump issued the surprise pitch for people to purchase his new $249 fragrance Monday – even as he leaned on the Senate in search of a bare majority to pass his 'big beautiful bill'. It was a marketing move that drew an immediate rebuke from Fox News commentator Jessica Tarlov – who appears on 'The Five' and has been railing against Trump's megabill. 'Sixteen million Americans are about to lose their healthcare, but go buy my gross perfume…' she wrote, dismissing Trump's pitch. Tarlov, who is usually outnumbered representing a more liberal position on the show, cohosts a podcast called 'Raging Moderates.' She was referencing a Congressional Budget Office estimate of the megabill's impact on health coverage, mostly due to Medicaid cuts. The bill passed the Senate 51-50 Tuesday, with Vice President JD Vance casting the tie-breaking vote. It's unclear how Tarlov would be able to evaluate the new scent, which is just coming on the market. The efforts of Senate Republican leadership to line up support for the legislation were being called odious after provisions dubbed the 'Kodiak kickback' were designed to bring Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski on board. Before that, Trump was promoting his perfume. 'Trump Fragrances are here. They're called 'Victory 45-47' because they're all about Winning, Strength, and Success — For men and women,' Trump wrote on his Truth Social site. 'Get yourself a bottle, and don't forget to get one for your loved ones too. Enjoy, have fun, and keep winning!' Trump wrote. The marketing materials the president posted just after business hours on June 30 feature a gold statuette of a man in a tuxedo bearing a resemblance to a younger Trump. It's part of his 'Fight, fight, fight' collection, which also marketing fragrances after the attempt on his life during the 2024 campaign. 'This scent is your rallying cry in a bottle. Featuring Trump's iconic image and raised fist, this limited-edition cologne embodies strength, power and victory,' it says. The Trump Victory 45-47 fragrance features perfume from women and a cologne for men, with the bottles bearing the president's signature. Sen. Mark Warner of Virginia jabbed that the scent of Trump's perfume likely matches the odor of the president's Big Beautiful Bill: 'garbage'. Trump already drew attention for selling gold sneakers, coffee table books and other items during his campaign to regain the White House. He even sold signed gold watches for $100,000 each. His latest financial disclosure revealed he raked in $57 million from a single family-linked cryptocurrency venture. Trump also hauled in $3 million from his 'Save America' coffee table book, $2.5 million from Trump-branded sneakers and cologne, $1.3 million from 'The Greenwood Bible', $1.05 million from a line of '45' electric guitars, and $1.06 million from licensing his image for digital trading cards.
