Claire Sweeney reunites with pal Jessie Wallace at DJ Fat Tony's wedding as they celebrate 23 years of friendship with sweet throwback

shared a sweet throwback snap with pal Jessie Wallace as she celebrated 23 years of friendship after reuniting at a star-studded wedding over the weekend. The Coronation Street star, 54, took to Instagram with before-and-after pictures of the beaming pair over two decades apart. In the first picture Claire and fellow soap star Jessie, 53, wore black outfits while attending Liza Minelli's birthday party back in 2003. The second shot was taken on Saturday, capturing the duo in glamorous looks while attending the star-studded wedding of DJ Fat Tony and fiancé Stavros Agapiou. Sharing a heartfelt tribute to her long-time friend, Claire wrote: 'These pics are taken 23 years apart. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'The first pic at Liza Minelli's birthday party 2003, second one last night at @dj_fattony_ @stavrosagapiou wedding. 'We always laugh so much when we get together, love you loads @jessicawallace_official older, wiser, and more sparkly ❤️.' Tony, 58, and Stavros, 32, have been engaged since October 2023 and walked down the aisle in a lavish London ceremony this weekend. Kate Moss and Gemma Collins reportedly acted as bridesmaids while A-listers including Boy George, Davina McCall, David and Victoria Beckham, and Kylie Minogue were also slated to attend. As the festivities got underway, Claire took to Instagram to share some very glamorous photographs from her hotel room. Claire - who was also thought to be serving as a bridesmaid - was joined by her son Jaxon, 13, who she shares with her ex Daniel Reilly, and Boy George while getting ready. For the occasion, Claire cut a glamorous figure in a plunging silver sequinned gown embellished with floral patterns and waterfall feathered sleeves. She let her outfit do all the talking as she accessorised with a crucifix pendant and styled her golden tresses poker straight. Claire was every inch the proud mother as she stood beside her son Jaxon, who wore a black tuxedo and a red bowtie. They were both joined by singer Boy George, 63, who has long been a very close friend of groom DJ Tony's. Boy George showed off his signature style in a patterned shirt and a black blazer and trousers, which he styled with dark trainers. The Karma Chameleon hitmaker, who Tony asked to be his best man, completed his look with a signature blue hat and dramatic smokey eyeshadow. Earlier in the day, Claire also posted a video of herself of her and Jaxon heading to the wedding in a taxi. She panned around to show the sights of London before giving a glimpse at Jaxon sitting suited and booted beside her. 'We are on the way to DJ Fat Tony's wedding, you're looking lovely Jaxon,' Claire said. Just hours ahead of his nuptials, DJ Fat Tony gushed over the 'happiest chapter of my life'. Fat Tony, real name Tony Marnach, shared a sweet Instagram post that read, 'Love Wins' just hours ahead of his wedding. Tony added in the caption: 'Here we stand at the beginning... The happiest chapter of my life x' With Tony being hugely popular on the celebrity circuit, it's little surprise that the nuptials hosted an eclectic star-studded guestlist and an A-list performance from none other than Kylie Minogue for the evening celebrations, according to reports.

EastEnders stars Kat Slater and Alfie Moon to marry for THIRD time on soap 20 years after first tying the knot

EASTENDERS' Kat Slater struggles to veil her emotions as she marries Alfie Moon for a THIRD time. The on-off lovers, played by Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie, are set to tie the knot again more than two decades after first saying 'I do'. 7 7 In one of this week's episodes, Kat is stunned when Alfie pops the question – and planning for the big day soon begins. But trouble is quickly looming – and the couple look far from overjoyed in these first-look pictures. There is even a chance Kat may not go through with it. The couple first married in the 2003 Christmas special, with Kat's dream of a white wedding coming true thanks to a snow machine Alfie hired for the occasion. They were ripped apart a year later when Kat's jealous ex, Andy Hunter, threatened to kill Alfie unless Kat slept with him. The pair divorced then remarried in 2014 – but that didn't last either. Kat subsequently had a brief failed marriage to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) before reuniting with Alfie. Let's hope it's third time lucky. EastEnders legend goes viral on TikTok with 16 year old clip from fitness DVD that's leaving fans HORRIFIED 7 JAMIE: ENEMIES? GORD NO 7 DESPITE describing Gordon Ramsay as a 'psychopath' in a viral social media clip earlier this year, Jamie Oliver has assured fans their long-running feud is not back on. The chefs fell out in 2009 when Gordon referred to his TV rival as a 'one-pot wonder', later labelling him a 'mere cook'. Jamie hit back that the Hell's Kitchen hothead was 'jealous' of his career and was 'too busy shouting and screaming'. But Jamie has now told The Sunday Times Magazine: 'Me and Gordon are absolutely friends – our little berating decade is behind us. 'He's smashing life at the moment. He's doing things that no chef has ever done. 'We're on good terms, and long may it continue.' GRACE IS BURGER QUEEN 7 SHE has dined at some of the world's top restaurants and is known for her withering put-downs of poor cuisine. But Celebrity MasterChef judge Grace Dent – tipped to replace Gregg Wallace when the show returns later this year – actually has some surprising secret tastes. She told Scott Mills on the Mercedes-Benz Vans Under the Bonnet podcast: 'I do love fast food, especially in service stations. People go, 'Oh I hate Burger King it's horrible.' But it's not. It's delicious. 'You can't put a price on stopping at a bog-standard service station at 11am.' But Grace admits she can't really do it now, due to her links with posh nosh. She said: 'People will just take photos of me because it's so comical.' BEEB HAS FAITH IN SPIN-OFF 7 THE Beeb's Faith show Pilgrimage has played host to some interesting stars over the years, from Christine McGuinness to Neil Morrissey. Now I can reveal it's getting a spin-off which will start filming this month. The programme's creators CTVC are working on the similar BBC project, which takes a deeper dive into religions and beliefs. The show has yet to get an official title but filming is set to wrap at the end of this summer – so it could be on our screens around this time next year. Pilgrimage has delivered steady ratings since it debuted in 2018 with its first adventure across Spain. Since then, it's taken a group of celebs on various treks in countries ranging from Italy and Turkey to Switzerland and Scotland. HARRY'S MAGIC PLAN HARRY MOULDING is already thinking about the future after triumphing on Britain's Got Talent on Saturday. The magician says his journey began when he was 11 years old and a conjurer came to his school. From that point Harry reckoned he was Harry Potter. He said of his teachers: 'I used to get my cards confiscated in class because I constantly wanted to perform my magic tricks to school friends. 'I'm sorry to the teachers who had to deal with my magic antics, but I hope they can see it was all worth it now. I'm grateful to my school. 'With the money, perhaps I can open the magic school, a BGT Hogwarts, and Simon Cowell could be the Dumbledor of BGTWarts.' I think he should come up with a catchier name though. LOVE Island has added another hunk to its roster just days before the new series kicks off – Londoner Tommy Bradley. An insider said: 'He's a cheeky chappy who enjoys a night out with the lads. "He's packed on serious muscle – so he's not just a personality hire.'

Iconic EastEnders star set for return 20 years after leaving the BBC soap

Iconic EastEnders actress Michelle Ryan is set to return to the BBC soap 20 years after her departure from Albert Square. Ryan played the role of Zoe Slater on the soap from 2000 to 2005. During her time on EastEnders, Ryan's character was involved in one of the most explosive and iconic moments in the soap's history. Involved in a heated argument with Kat Slater (played by Jessie Wallace), Zoe yelled: 'You can't tell me what to do. You ain't my mother.' To which Kat famously replied: 'Yes I am!' (Image: BBC) Ryan's character Zoe left the show in 2005, moving away to start a new life in Ibiza after being wrongly made to believe she had killed Den Watts. EastEnders fans had hoped Ryan, and her character Zoe, would return for the 40th anniversary special in February. While she didn't appear in the anniversary special earlier this year, reports are that Ryan is set to return to EastEnders 20 years after leaving the BBC soap. A source, speaking to The Sun, said: 'Bosses have repeatedly reached out to Michelle over the years, but the timing has never been quite right. 'People are still talking about her character, so it's a real coup to bring her back. 'She feels like now is the perfect moment — and there was an exciting script on the table.' EastEnders icon set to make huge 'return to Albert Square' 20 years after quitting the BBC soap

EastEnders star Michelle Ryan is reportedly set to return to Albert Square 20 years after quitting the BBC soap. The actress, 41, portrayed Zoe Slater between 2000 and 2005, before leaving for a new life in Ibiza after wrongly believing she killed Den Watts. During her time on the show, Michelle was involved in one of EastEnders' biggest storylines with it revealed that Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) was in fact Zoe's mother and not her sister, with explosive scenes seeing her yell: 'You ain't my mother!', only for Kat to reply: 'Yes I am!' And now it's said that Michelle will return to the show that catapulted her to fame, with the star believing now is the 'perfect' time to make her long-awaited comeback. A source told The Sun: 'Bosses have repeatedly reached out to Michelle over the years, but the timing has never been quite right. 'People are still talking about her character, so it's a real coup to bring her back.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. They added: 'She feels like now is the perfect moment — and there was an exciting script on the table.' MailOnline have contacted EastEnders representatives who declined to comment. After leaving EastEnders, Michelle headed over to the US after landing the lead role in series Bionic Woman. It comes after MailOnline revealed in February that, despite multiple attempts from bosses over the years, Michelle has refused to return to EastEnders - turning them down every time they've asked. Back in 2001, EastEnders' leopard-print-loving Kat Slater, who had been sexually abused by her uncle, finally revealed to her 'sister' Zoe that she was, in fact, her mother. It remains one of the most famous and iconic moments in EastEnders ' 40-year history - a scene that has been mimicked by soap fans worldwide. The unforgettable storyline catapulted Michelle, then 16, to superstardom, and in 2005, she walked away from Walford for the final time, five years after arriving in EastEnders with the rest of the Slater clan. A source told MailOnline: 'Bosses reached out to Michelle several times over the years, they would love to have her back. For example, as the soap was approaching its big 30th anniversary, it was a gentle approach asking if she would consider a return in the lead up to it all. 'This was at the very early stages of their plans but Michelle refused and there was a lot of disappointment amongst bosses. 'It's always been quite baffling why she wouldn't want to reprise a character who is still very much adored by the fans. It's been 20 years since she left Albert Square but still people are talking about her character.' In the lead up to the soap's 40th a number of former characters came back including Grant Mitchell, Bianca Jackson, Chrissie Watts, David Wicks, Nigel Bates, Mickey Miller and even Angie Watts but there was no Zoe. Michelle admitted at the time of quitting that she 'got quite bored in the end' playing Zoe, telling the Bristol Evening Post: 'Doing the same thing day in, day out. It's just so boring. I like to jump from different things.' 'I always saw EastEnders as an apprenticeship. I always wanted to go on and do different things. I have some really good friends from that show but the door is closed. 'I've always taken chances. I think that's how you progress – by stepping out and doing different things. 'I really do like my freedom and jumping from job to job. I just want to work with people I admire and respect, wherever that be – big budget, low budget, leading role, supporting role.' After leaving the show 20 years ago, the star almost cracked America after landing the leading role in the re-imagining of the popular seventies TV show Bionic Woman, though the show was cancelled after just one season. Since then the British star has appeared in several independent films, including 4.3.2.1. and Cockneys vs Zombies. She has also had guest roles in BBC shows Merlin, Doctor Who and Death In Paradise. Her most recent acting film appearance was in Frankenstein: Legacy where she starred as Lady Charlotte, in addition to 2025's Finding My Voice in which she layed Lisa Kendall.

EastEnders legend set to return after 20 years since leaving Albert Square

SHOCK RETURN 'People are still talking about her character, so it's a real coup to bring her back', claims an insider EASTENDERS legend Michelle Ryan is set to return as Zoe Slater 20 years after she left Albert Square. The shock return will see the actress, 41, back in Walford this year — delighting fans who had hoped to see her in the soap's 40th anniversary special in February. 2 2 A source said: 'Bosses have repeatedly reached out to Michelle over the years, but the timing has never been quite right. 'People are still talking about her character, so it's a real coup to bring her back. 'She feels like now is the perfect moment — and there was an exciting script on the table.' Michelle starred on the soap from 2000 to 2005, before moving to Hollywood after landing the lead role in a series called Bionic Woman. The Slater sisters took Albert Square by storm when they arrived. Young Zoe fell out with protective Kat, played by Jessie Wallace, storming off with the words: 'You can't tell me what to do. 'You ain't my mother.' Kat famously screamed back: 'Yes I am!' It became one of the most quoted lines in soap history. The plot twist revealed Zoe — who was brought up believing Kat was her sister — found out she was actually her mum. Discussing her decision to leave at the time, Michelle said: 'I've always taken chances. I think that's how you progress.' Since then Michelle has appeared in several films, including 4.3.2.1. and Cockneys vs Zombies. She has also had guest roles in BBC shows Doctor Who and Merlin.
