Somerset man indicted on over 45 sex crime charges including rape, sodomy
SOMERSET, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Somerset man is being held in jail on nearly $1 million in cash bonds after being indicted on more than 45 sex crimes.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, Jesus Chavez, 32, was initially charged in October 2024. Detectives said that on Oct. 20, 2024, an investigation was launched that ended with Chavez facing one count of second-degree rape and third-degree sodomy.

In December, Chavez was indicted on more rape and sodomy charges as well as one count of first-degree sexual abuse, according to the sheriff's office.
On April 3, after further investigation, detectives announced an additional 45 indictments filed against Chavez, including:
Rape
Sodomy
Use of a minor under 16 in a sexual performance
Promoting a sexual performance by a minor under 16
Possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
The sheriff's office announced that Chavez is being held in the Pulaski County Detention Center on $100,000, $200,000, and $500,000 cash bonds for three indictments from Russell County and Pulaski County.
