Hafiz Saeed-led outfit leaders claim involvement in Hasina's ouster
Some leaders of the banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) of Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed have claimed that their outfit played a role in last year's mass anti-government protests in Bangladesh that led to the ouster of Sheikh Hasina. The claims by JuD — Saifullah Kasuri and Muzammil Hashmi, a UN-designated terrorist — came during their speeches earlier this week. 'I was four-year-old when Pakistan was dismembered in 1971. The then Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi had declared that she'd drowned the two-nation theory in Khaleej (Bay of Bengal). On May 10… we have taken the revenge of 1971,' Kasuri said while addressing his supporters in Allahabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Lahore. He also said that one of his fellows, Mudassar, was killed in the Indian airstrike on Muridke (JuD/LeT headquarters) on May 7 in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives on April 22. 'I was not allowed to attend his funeral. On the day of his funeral, I cried a lot,' Kasuri said. He did not reveal who stopped him from attending Mudassar's funeral. On the other hand, the top military, police and civilian bureaucracy of Punjab province of Pakistan were among those who attended Mudassar and two other JuD members' funerals. 'I was in my constituency meeting with the people when the Pahalgam incident took place. India made me the mastermind of this attack. India made my city, Kasur, popular in the world,' Kasuri said. 'We are preparing the next generation for jihad…We are not afraid of dying,' he said. In his speech in Gujranwala, some 80 kms from Lahore, a few days ago, Hashmi, referring to the Indian leadership, said, 'We defeated you in Bangladesh last year…' He was referring to Hasina's ouster on August 5 following massive anti-government protests led by students. Hasina fled to India, and three days later, Muhammad Yunus took over as the Chief Adviser of the interim government. The ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan saw a quantum jump after Hasina's ouster. 'The rhetoric of Jihadi extremists at their public rallies makes it difficult for the rest of the world to believe official assertions that Pakistan is no longer sponsoring or tolerating them,' Pakistan's former diplomat Hussain Haqqani said, reacting to the speeches by the JuD leaders.

In video shared by Hasina's son, LeT terrorist claims role in her ouster & ‘Modi's defeat in Bangladesh'
'Modi tu janta hai humne pichle saal tujhe bangladesh me shikast di (Modi, you know we defeated you in Bangladesh last year)?' he says. In a viral video doing the rounds on social media, the US-designated terrorist is purportedly seen claiming that the LeT 'defeated Modi in Bangladesh' last year. New Delhi: At a rally in Gujranwala, Pakistan, Wednesday—marking the 27th anniversary of the country's nuclear weapons acquisition—senior Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Muzammil Hashmi claimed a role in the ouster of Sheikh Hasina as Bangladesh's prime minister in July 2024. ThePrint has not independently verified the authenticity of the video. The video was shared by Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Sheikh Hasina's son, and later by former Pakistani diplomat Husain Haqqani. 'The rhetoric of Jihadi extremists at their public rallies makes it difficult for the rest of the world to believe official assertions that Pakistan is no longer sponsoring or tolerating them,' Haqqani wrote on X. The rhetoric of Jihadi extremists at their public rallies makes it difficult for the rest of the world to believe official assertions that Pakistan is no longer sponsoring or tolerating them. — Husain Haqqani (@husainhaqqani) May 30, 2025 This video follows Bangladesh interim legal adviser Asif Nazrul's reported meeting with Harun Izhar, chief of LeT's Bangladesh module, just hours after the Pahalgam terror attack in India. According to local media, the meeting took place at the Ministry of Law, Dhaka. The report was first shared by Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Sheikh Hasina's son. Izhar, linked to numerous terror plots, including a 2009 plan to attack the Indian High Commission in Dhaka, was reportedly also accompanied by several LeT operatives. At the Gujranwala rally, Hashmi can also be heard delivering a fiery speech aimed at Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, 'You try to scare us with your bullets, Modi. Here's our message: Our children aren't afraid of your missiles—why would we fear your bullets?' 'Your predecessors could not intimidate us, and neither will you,' he says. 'Look at the history of Hindustan and your forefathers. They have always bowed before us—and so will you.' Pahalgam Attack Mastermind Shares Stage With Politician At Pakistan Rally, Spews Venom Against India
Last Updated: Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Saifullah Khalid, mastermind of the Pahalgam terror attack, was seen addressing a public rally in Pakistan's Punjab under army protection. Saifullah Kasuri, alias Khalid, a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander and the mastermind behind the Pahalgam terror attack, was on Wednesday spotted at a public rally in Pakistan's Punjab. According to multiple reports, Pakistani politician Malik Ahmad Khan was also seen sharing the stage with Khalid. Videos, widely shared on the internet, showed Saifullah Khalid addressing a rally, while the Pakistani army provided him full protection. Talha Saeed, the son of LeT founder and Mumbai terror attacks mastermind, Hafiz Saeed, was also present at the rally. In the video, Saifullah Khalid could be heard spewing venom against India, Hindus, and the Bharatiya Janata Party. He also referred to the Pakistani terrorists killed in India's 'Operation Sindoor' as 'martyrs". 'I was informed that there was a terrorist attack in India on April 22, and later I came to know that India had referred to me as the mastermind of the attack," Khalid could be heard saying at the rally. 'We are not going to be scared by bullet shots and firing, and we aspire to die as martyrs," he said. Khalid, who gets full support of Pakistan, is a 'favourite asset' of the Pakistani army officers, and roams freely there. He is also infamous for giving several Jihadi speeches. Khalid has been instigating the Pakistani army and brainwashing the youth, reports added. For the Pahalgam terror attack, it was learnt that Khalid reached Kanganpur in Punjab, Pakistan, two months before. A large battalion of the Pakistani army is generally present there. As many as 26 tourists were shot dead by armed terrorists in Pahalgam on April 22. Survivors later said the terrorists had asked them about their faith, and shot dead those who said they were non-Muslims. The terrorists also asked the tourists to recite a ' Kalma ' (an Islamic phrase) to confirm if they were non-Muslims, before shooting them point-blank. Later, The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba, co-founded by Hafiz Saeed, claimed responsibility for the attack. In response, India, on the intervening night of May 7 and 8, launched 'Operation Sindoor' against Pakistan and destroyed multiple terror targets there. More than 100 terrorists, taking shelter in Pakistan, were also killed in the operation. Watch India Pakistan Breaking News on CNN-News18.
