Craig Foy: Man whose body was found in Heaton Park 'one of a kind'
A man whose body was found a week after he was last seen climbing a fence to get into a park where an Oasis concert was happening has been described as "one of a kind" by his family. CCTV showed Craig Foy, 40, from Bury, trying to enter Heaton Park in Manchester shortly before midnight on 26 family described him as a "beloved... son, brother, father, uncle, and friend to many". They added he was "cheeky, funny and loveable" and would be "sorely missed by all who knew him". Three men were arrested on suspicion of murder but then released to face no further action. Greater Manchester Police Det Ch Insp Jill Billington said: "A thorough investigation has been ongoing since Craig was reported missing and will continue to ensure we get Craig's family the answers they deserve."At the moment, the cause of Craig's death and the circumstances which led to it, are still to be determined pending further tests." Body found in search for missing man, 40, last seen climbing into park amid murder probe
COPS have tragically discovered a body in the search for a missing man. Craig Foy, 40, was last seen near Bury Old Road in Prestwich, Manchester, on Saturday July 26. CCTV appeared to show Craig climbing into the park on the night he vanished. Now, a body has sadly been found by cops and is believed to be Craig. The force said formal identification has not yet taken place but his family had been informed. The frantic search for Craig spanned weeks and involved teams of officers scouring Heaton Park in Prestwich after CCTV footage emerged. Three people were arrested on suspicion of murder as part of the investigation. Two have been told they will face no further action and one has been released on bail, Greater Manchester Police said. Detective Chief Inspector Jill Billington, from GMP's Serious Crime Division, said: 'The investigation remains ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to Craig's death, and to ensure that we can get the answers that his family deserve. 'We appreciate the support of the public in sharing our appeals to locate Craig and ask for his family to be given privacy, space and time to process their loss." Murder arrest over Bury man Craig Foy missing for a week
A person has been arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to the disappearance of a man last seen a week Foy was last seen on Bury Old Road in Prestwich, near Kenyon Lane, on 26 July, Greater Manchester Police 40-year-old left an address on King's Close in Prestwich alone and on foot just after 23:30 BST and walked in the direction of Bury Old Road. He was seen on CCTV climbing into Heaton Park shortly before force said three men had been arrested on suspicion of murder, with one suspect since released on bail and two others to face no further action. 'Come to harm' Mr Foy is described as about 5ft 5in (1.5m) tall, of slim build with dark hair that is shaved on the sides and was last seen wearing a black cap, square glasses, black T-shirt, black cargo trousers and black Nike Ch Insp Jill Billington said: "At this time we don't where Craig is, whether he's come to harm, and whether anyone else is involved."We are now focusing on Heaton Park and the surrounding area. We have officers in and around the park carrying out searches for Craig and they will remain there for several days."Any witnesses who may have seen him or spoken to him should contact police."We are also appealing for drivers with any dashcam footage that may have captured Craig's movements and ask homeowners and businesses to check their CCTV and doorbell cameras."
