Who is the new Voice of the Diamond Dawgs?
STARKVILLE, Miss. (WJTV) – A familiar voice will now be calling Mississippi State baseball games. Neil Price, who has served as the 'Voice of the Bulldogs' for football and men's basketball since 2017, has added 'Voice of the Diamond Dawgs' to his duties. Price will replace veteran broadcaster Jim Ellis, who retired in December 2024. JSU will face Grambling in Las Vegas HBCU Classic 'It is an honor to be named the broadcaster for one of the most iconic programs in college baseball history,' Price said. 'It is humbling to follow Jim Ellis in this role. Jim's broadcasts set the standard for college baseball on the radio. Over 46 seasons, Jim played a major role in building the popularity of the Diamond Dawgs. I will do my best to follow his wonderful example.' Price has called more than 350 Mississippi State football and men's basketball broadcasts on the Bulldog Sports Network. He has also hosted 'Dawg Talk,' a weekly radio show devoted to Mississippi State Athletics.
