LAHAD DATU: Police here arrested a 32-year-old Indonesian for having syabu worth RM641. District Acting Police Chief, Supt Jimmy Panyau, said the labourer was detained in front of a hotel in Jalan Panji, here, on Tuesday. Police detained the suspect upon receiving an tip. 'The team seized a translucent plastic containing a substance believed to be syabu weighing 5.83 grammes. 'The suspect also tested positive for Methamphetamine,' he said, adding that investigation is ongoing under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952. Police urged the public to provide information to assist the police in combating drug-related criminal activities in the district. Man nabbed for posing as traffic policeman to 'resolve' 3-vehicle accident

LAHAD DATU: Police have detained a man for allegedly impersonating a traffic policeman in order to "resolve" a three-vehicle accident. Deputy district police chief Superintendent Jimmy Panyau said the man was arrested by a team from the district Commercial Crime Investigation Department. He said the suspect had allegedly claimed to be a traffic policeman to resolve a three-car accident that occurred in Jalan Ladang Giram in Kunak on Feb 3. "The suspect offered to settle the accident case and demanded compensation from the victim to cover repair costs. "However, the victim became suspicious and realised that the suspect was not a policeman, and he lodged a report," he said in a statement. Jimmy added that the suspect had been blacklisted and had a criminal record for two offences. "The suspect is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code (for cheating), and a remand application will be made today to facilitate further investigation," he said.

District Acting Police Chief Supt. Jimmy Panyau said the man's arrest followed a police report lodged by the victim on May 24. The suspect was detained around 10pm on Sunday and is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code. A remand application was to be filed on Monday. LAHAD DATU: The district Police detained a 66-year-old man and seized various medicines believed to be unregistered following an inspection on a courier service premise at Bandar Sri Perdana, here, on Saturday. District Acting Police Chief, Supt. Jimmy Panyau said, acting on information, a team of Police from the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division (JSJN) inspected the premise. 'Following the inspection, the team seized some medicines believed not registered with the Malaysian Health Ministry (KKM) and detained a local man. 'Among the items seized are 60 bottles of 'Stem Cell Activin', 20 bottles of 'Cell Essence Peptide' 120 pills of 'Red Cialis Essence and 120 unlabeled pills,' he said, adding that the seizures were estimated worth RM139,000. According to Jimmy, in a separate raid at Kampung Sri Aman, Jalan Silam, Police detained two men aged 36 and 55 for possessing drugs. He said, both of the suspects were found possessing 0.18 grams and 0.17 grams of Syabu respectively. Advertisement 'Both of the suspects were tested negative for drug abuse. However further investigation is ongoing under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952,' he said. In the meantime, Police reaffirmed their commitment in combating drug trafficking activities and health product abuse. LAHAD DATU: Police detained two men in an operation carried out by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division at Kampung Puyut, Jalan Pantai, here, Wednesday. District Acting Police Chief, Supt Jimmy Panyau, said the suspects were detained in two separate raids during the operation. He said the first suspect, a 40-year-old Filipino was detained at about 12.40pm for having 0.23grammes of syabu. 'The suspect tested positive for taking Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. 'The case would be investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952,' he said. Jimmy said the team arrested a 44-year-old local man in the second raid at about 4.30pm. Advertisement He said the suspect found in possession of 0.22 grams of syabu.
