Bill Murray is bringing his new band to downtown Minneapolis
Comedian and former St. Paul Saints co-owner Bill Murray is coming to the Twin Cities, but there won't be a ball game involved.
Bill Murray and His Blood Brothers, the SNL alum's band, will perform "some good ole' rock n roll" at the Orpheum Theatre in April, Hennepin Arts announced on Tuesday.
It's not the recently reunited Portland hardcore group accompanying the Royal Tenenbaums star, but a group led by musicians Mike Zito and Albert Castiglia.
The ensemble also features Jimmy Vivino, best known as the bandleader of Jimmy Vivino and the Basic Cable Band, Conan O'Brien's house band for Conan on TBS.
The group came together in September, performing at the Big Blues Bender in Las Vegas, playing a set that combined covers and a handful of original songs. The announcement promises the just-announced tour will blend "Murray's unique charm with classic rock music."
It's far from Murray's first foray into music and isn't even his first musical performance at the Orpheum. He performed with cellist Jan Vogler at the Downtown Minneapolis theater in 2018.
Tickets for the show, which takes place on April 10, will go on sale on Friday, March 7 at 10 a.m.
