DM orders strict food safety checks
Kanpur: District magistrate Jitendra Prarap Singh on Tuesday directed all the food security officers of the district to regularly check the quality of ingredients used by food vendors like momos, samosa etc in their respective areas.
It should be ensured that only FSSAI standard food items are being used by the vendors. If any kind of substandard, adulterated or harmful food material is found to be used, then strict legal action should be taken against it with immediate effect, he added.
The District Magistrate gave clear instructions that during raids or investigation proceedings, innocent people should not be harassed and those found guilty should not be spared under any circumstances and strict action should be taken against them as per the rules. Directing to assistant commissioner (food) Sanjay Pratap Singh, he stated that all such FSSAI officers who were working in one field for more than one year, their field of work should be changed.
