CBSE plan talks on skill education for students
1 2 Ranchi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools have planned talk shows by policymakers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs and experts to promote skill education and motivate students to build careers in skill-based fields. CBSE teachers said the skill education committee recently approved the proposal during a meeting of the CBSE management committee. The talks, designed as a series, will allow professionals to share experiences and guide students on career opportunities. Ranchi Sahodaya School Complex president Jitendra Tiwari said, "The talk show series aims to promote skill education and motivate students to pursue careers in various skill areas." CBSE would also launch a community radio station to expand outreach. The station will feature live sessions and interactive discussions, making it accessible to students even in regions with poor internet connectivity. While the board runs a podcast titled Shiksha Vani, the proposed community radio will function differently, focusing on wider accessibility, teachers said. "The series will provide students with an opportunity to learn from professionals and teachers. We are still waiting for detailed guidelines on how to implement it in schools," Tiwari added. Soon, smaller fire engines to tackle traffic congestion, narrow alleys
R Tired of too many ads? go ad free now anchi: State's fire services wing plans to purchase 56 small fire extinguishing vehicles to tackle flames in narrow and congested areas of towns and cities, its officials said. The small fire tenders would also be part of the quick response team as it would take relatively lesser time than larger vehicles to reach the spot. Officials said there are 33 small fire vehicles at present, each with a capacity of 500 litres water and 50 litres foam, with the fire services. The wing would procure 39 small vehicles with storage of 1,000 litres of water each, from a fund of Rs 12 crore provided by the state govt. Moreover, 17 small fire tenders would be purchased from the fund which would be provided by the Centre for upgrading the wing. The first instalment of the Centre's fund has already come to the state and the process for allocating it to fire unit is underway. State fire officer (in-charge) Jitendra Tiwari said, "Large vehicles usually get stuck up in traffic and the narrow roads. This leads to delays in reaching place of incident on time. In fire incidents, delay of each second leads to losses. The small tenders can, however, access the affected areas even in narrow lanes and start the dousing works. Meanwhile, the larger vehicles would reach the spot as soon as it can." Tiwari said 42 bike fire tenders would also be deployed. "They would have cylinders with gas and powder that could extinguish small flames," he said. Notably, the fire service wing had 84 Type B vehicles with capacity of 4,500 litres and 24 vehicles with storage of 7,000 litres. That apart, there are 10 foam tenders, which are used to extinguish fire caused by oil.
