Actor, who debuted with Dhanush and starred in Fahadh Faasil's first film, now battling severe liver disease and financial hardship
The world of cinema is not just about glitz and glam; it also encompasses the untold stories hidden in the shadows, where the struggles of many who never made it to the limelight go unnoticed. It goes without saying that the number of those who failed far exceeds those who succeeded. Among many such heart-wrenching stories is the story of actor Abhinay Kinger, who, despite a promising and impactful debut, is now battling for his survival.
At 44, Abhinay is grappling with severe liver disease and is struggling both physically and financially. Unemployed and without anyone to care for him, he is finding it difficult to pay his medical bills and cover basic living expenses. In an interview last year, the actor shared that he often relies on meals from a government mess. He also, with a heavy heart, shared that his days might be numbered, highlighting his sorry state.

A Malayali by birth, Abhinay is the son of late renowned actor TP Radhamani, who worked with many prominent figures in the Tamil and Malayalam film industries. Following her death from cancer in 2019, Abhinay's situation worsened considerably.
Intriguingly, Abhinay made a noteworthy debut in 2002 alongside Dhanush in the coming-of-age drama Thulluvadho Ilamai. Penned by Dhanush's brother Selvaraghavan and directed by their father Kasthuri Raja, this film brought Abhinay considerable attention and led him to land his first lead role in Jjunction (2002). That same year, he made his foray into Malayalam cinema with a small role in legendary director Fazil's Kai Ethum Dhoorathu, which also marked the acting debut of the filmmaker's son Fahadh Faasil.
Subsequently, Abhinay appeared in Tamil movies like Daas, Pon Megalai, Thodakkam, Solla Solla Inikkum, Palaivana Solai, Arumugam, Kathai, Aarohanam and Endrendrum Punnagai. He was last seen in director Srinath's action comedy Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham (2014), starring Santhanam and Ashna Zaveri. The actor has also worked as a dubbing artiste in the past and lent his voice to Vidyut Jammwal in Thuppakki (2012) and Anjaan (2014), Milind Soman in Paiyaa (2010) and Babu Antony in Kaaka Muttai (2015).
