Botafogo To Seal Transfer Of Out-Of-Contract Inter Milan Star In Time For FIFA Club World Cup

Botafogo To Seal Transfer Of Out-Of-Contract Inter Milan Star In Time For FIFA Club World Cup Botafogo are ready to seal the transfer of Joaquin Correa from Inter Milan in time for the FIFA Club World Cup. This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio. He reported on air, via FCInterNews, that everything is in place for the 30-year-old to make the move. Advertisement Joaquin Correa has come to a four-year stint at Inter Milan. The Argentine joined the Nerazzurri from Lazio in the summer of 2021. Correa joined right at the end of the transfer window. He made an immediate impact, coming off the bench to score a match-winning brace in a 3-1 win away to Hellas Verona. However after that, Correa's performances for Inter were deeply underwhelming. (Photo by) In the summer of 2023, after two disappointing seasons at the club, Inter loaned Correa out to Marseille. However, the Argentine's form was little better for the Ligue 1 club than it had been at the San Siro. Advertisement Correa returned to Inter last summer. And despite numerous links away, he ended up seeing out his contract at the club. Correa scored two goals and made two assists across twelve appearances in Serie A in his final season at the Nerazzurri. Technically speaking, Correa's contract with Inter runs out at the end of June. But the Nerazzurri will release him a few weeks early from his deal. This will allow the former Lazio and Sevilla forward to join Brazilian club Botafogo. Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Brazilian giants will be able to complete the signing of Correa before the pre-Club World Cup transfer window closes. Therefore, the Argentine can be a part of Botafogo's squad for that tournament.

Video – Inter Milan Hype Up Argentina Star In Action In Serie A Win Vs Como

Inter Milan lost out on the Serie A title to Napoli on the final day despite beating Como. The Nerazzurri were able to get the job done against their newly-promoted Lombard rivals. They beat the Lariani 2-0. However, in Naples, Napoli beat Cagliari by the scoreline. Therefore, that was enough to hold on to their one-point advantage in the Serie A table. Inter Milan were unable to become the first team to defend the title since the 2019-20 season. Inter took to Instagram with a snapshot of Joaquin Correa in action during the match. Ex Lazio Flop Signs Off Inter Milan Career With A ‘Jewel' Of A Goal Vs Como

Ex Lazio Flop Signs Off Inter Milan Career With A 'Jewel' Of A Goal Vs Como Joaquin Correa signed off for his time at Inter Milan with a 'jewel' of a goal in yesterday's Serie A clash with Como. This is the view in today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. Advertisement Joaquin Correa played what was surely his final match for Inter Milan in Serie A yesterday. The Argentine is not in Inter's squad list for the Champions League. Therefore, there is certainly no chance that he'll feature in the final against Paris Saint-Germain. However, that fact has meant that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has frequently called upon Correa in Serie A this season. (Photo by) Correa has been playing as an attacking midfielder in a couple recent matches for Inter. And playing in a 3-4-2-1 shape, partnering Nicola Zalewski behind Mehdi Taremi has really suited the former Lazio and Sevilla forward's game. Advertisement Correa put in about as sharp a display as he's ever done for Inter against Como yesterday. The 30-year-old got on the ball in pockets of space frequently, and kept Inter's play ticking over. He had less of a responsibility in the physical duels with the opposition defense. Then, Correa scored Inter's final goal of the Serie A season. It was a mazy run and then a tidy finish from a tight angle. It would be fair to say that Correa's time at Inter as a whole has been nowhere near expectations. But he did leave a parting gift that showed the quality he possesses.

Napoli crowned Italian champions

clinched the Serie A title in proper style on Friday with a solid 2-0 win at home over , thanks to goals from and . That win means they've now got their hands on their second league trophy in three years, (and fourth overall) edging out Inter by just a single point. Inter did their bit with a 2-0 victory away at Como, with goals from Stefan de Vrij and Joaquin Correa, but it wasn't quite enough. McTominay got the party started just before half-time with a stunning overhead kick after a lovely cross from Matteo Politano, sending the packed Stadio Diego Armando Maradona absolutely wild. Lukaku made sure of the result early in the second half, going on a brilliant solo run before sticking it in the back of the net – job done. From there, it was all about the celebrations. The Diego Armando Maradona Stadium turned into a sea of flares, smoke, and noise, and the skies over Naples lit up with fireworks when the final whistle went. The title win puts Napoli just ahead of Inter by the narrowest of margins, and it also sees Antonio Conte make history as the first manager to win the Serie A title with three different clubs.

Soccer-Heartbreak for Inter as title slips away despite Como win

Soccer Football - Serie A - Como v Inter Milan - Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, Como, Italy - May 23, 2025 Inter Milan's Luka Topalovic, Joaquin Correa, Denzel Dumfries and Kristjan Asllani react after the match REUTERS/Claudia Greco COMO, Italy (Reuters) -Inter Milan ended their Serie A campaign with a 2–0 win at 10-man Como on Friday which was not enough to retain the Scudetto title due to Napoli's 2-0 victory over Cagliari. Despite getting the job done at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, Inter fell short in a tense season finale, having entered the match one point behind leaders Napoli in the title race. With a Champions League final against Paris St Germain looming and serving a touchline ban, coach Simone Inzaghi rested several regular starters but his side still delivered when it mattered. Inter broke the deadlock in the 21st minute when Stefan de Vrij rose to meet Hakan Calhanoglu's pinpoint corner, powering a header past Como goalkeeper Pepe Reina. Como were reduced to 10 m3n shortly before halftime when Reina was sent off for a last-man foul on Mehdi Taremi in the Spaniard's farewell match. Joaquin Correa made it 2-0 six minutes into the second half, cutting inside a defender before finishing coolly. (Reporting by Janina Nuno Rios in Mexico City, editing by Ed Osmond)
