Disney+ and ITV announce brand new streaming partnership
The "first-of-its-kind" initiative will see the development of a promotional selection called a 'Taste of ITVX' and a 'Taste of Disney+' on both sites. Starting on Wednesday, July 16, a curated and regularly refreshed selection of hit shows and movies from Disney+ and ITVX will be available to viewers on both platforms. ITV and Disney+ Plus announce new streaming partnership Disney+ customers in the UK will be able to stream some of ITV 's "most acclaimed" scripted and unscripted content. This includes the award-winning drama 'Mr Bates vs The Post Office' and selected seasons of the hit reality show 'Love Island'. At the same time, ITVX users will be able to enjoy 'The Bear', the Star Wars series 'Andor' and the popular mystery programme 'Only Murders in the Building'. There will also be a number of reality shows like 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' and 'The Kardashians" as well as family favourites like 'Lilo and Stitch: The Series'. Joe Earley, President, Direct-to-Consumer at Disney Entertainment, said: 'We are proud of this innovative collaboration with ITV, which will allow us to bring Disney+ customers some of the UK's favourite and buzzworthy shows and encourage ITVX viewers to discover some of Disney+'s award-winning series and blockbuster films.' Now you could watch Disney+ for free as they have partnered with ITVX for a first-of-its-kind content sharing deal. Disney+ and ITVX are teaming up to offer each other's viewers a "taste of" the shows and movies you could be streaming on each service. ITVX is free to watch under the tier that includes advertising, meaning viewers could get access to top Disney content for free. The two streaming giants have announced a first-of-its-kind partnership that will allow them to carry each other's streaming services. Disney+ and ITVX viewers will see a new promotional selection of content from each service, labelled a "Taste of ITVX" and a "Taste of Disney+". With ITVX's standard streaming tier available for free with adverts included, it means that some of Disney+'s top shows and movies will now be available at no cost via ITVX. Disney+ is usually a paid-for subscription, with three tiers of plans in the UK starting from £4.99 a month with advertising. However, an ITVX premium subscription is just £1 more at £5.99 a month and is ad-free. The ad-free subscription for Disney+ starts at £8.99 a month, so if you want to avoid the advertising that comes with the free version of ITVX and watch Disney+ content, you could still cut costs. Landmark agreement expands Disney+ and ITVX audiences in the UK First-of-its-kind agreement puts acclaimed British and global hits on both platforms from 16 July LONDON, U.K. (10 July, 2025) The Walt Disney Company and ITV announce today a new first-of-its-kind initiative to carry each other's streaming services, in the form of a promotional selection, billed as a 'Taste of ITVX' and a 'Taste of Disney+' respectively. The exciting initiative brings together two of the UK's most recognisable entertainment brands to expand viewer choice and celebrate the best of British and international storytelling, marking a further milestone in The Walt Disney Company and ITV's long-standing relationship. Starting 16 July, a curated, and regularly refreshed selection of hit shows and movies from Disney+ and ITVX will be available to viewers on both platforms. The agreement showcases ITV and Disney's world-class content to each other's complementary audiences, extending reach and allowing more viewers to discover Disney+ and ITVX. Disney+ customers in the UK will be able to stream some of ITV's most acclaimed scripted and unscripted content.
