In the Vikings' first action since falling to the Los Angeles Rams in January's Wild Card Weekend, they defeated the Texans 20-10 at U.S. Bank Stadium. Huber, who logged 55 snaps at right guard, pocketed a 94.7 overall grade from PFF for his performance in the victory. The former Badger was the only Viking on either offense or defense to earn a PFF grade over 90.0. Center Michael Jurgens (80.0), wide receiver Jordan Addison (79.6), offensive tackle Walter Rouse (78.4) and wide receiver Myles Price (76.8) rounded out the top-end contributors on the offensive end. With Huber in action, Minnesota accumulated 86 rushing yards and one score on the ground on Saturday while allowing just two sacks and seven tackles for loss. Huber arrived in Minnesota as an undrafted free agent back in April. The Ohio native spent a pair of seasons in Madison, logging 25 starts at right guard as a key piece of a strong offensive line unit. Prior to his stint with UW, Huber laced up under Luke Fickell with the Cincinnati Bearcats from 2020-22. There, he played 20 games and notched honorable mention All-AAC accolades as a redshirt sophomore in 2022. Huber will look to continue his strong play in Minnesota's next preseason contest against the New England Patriots on Aug. 16. He is currently listed as the No. 2 option at right guard behind Will Fries. Continued strong play ahead of the regular season could shift the former Badger's snap counts down the line. Former Wisconsin five-star offensive lineman signs with Vikings as undrafted free agent

Former Wisconsin five-star offensive lineman signs with Vikings as undrafted free agent Former Wisconsin and current Kansas Jayhawks offensive lineman Logan Brown signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent on Saturday. Brown is the third former Wisconsin transfer off to the NFL level, following Graham Mertz and Chimere Dike (both via Florida), who were each selected on Day 3 of the draft. He is the seventh former Badger overall, with Jack Nelson and Hunter Wohler going in the draft and Joe Huber and R.J. Delancy signing as UDFAs. The Kansas lineman originally joined the Badgers as a five-star recruit in the class of 2019, ranked as the No. 7 overall player in the country, No. 1 offensive tackle and No. 1 recruit from his home state of Michigan. According to 247Sports, he is the third-highest-ranked recruit in Wisconsin program history, behind OT Nolan Rucci (2021) and OT Josh Oglesby (2007). At Wisconsin, Brown was unable to live up to the sky-high expectations that followed his recruitment. He appeared in all 20 of the program's games from 2020-21, primarily as a reserve lineman and on special teams. He then held a similar role through the first half of the 2022 season before entering the transfer portal in mid-October after the program moved on from head coach Paul Chryst. Brown eventually committed to Kansas that November. He appeared in just two games as a redshirt junior in 2023 before breaking out as a senior this past season, starting 11 of 12 games and finishing with an overall ProFootballFocus grade of 82.5. After many pre-draft projections had Brown slotted in the fifth or sixth round, his signing as an UDFA is somewhat of a surprise. He joins Wisconsin guard Joe Huber in that regard. Both players have since signed on with the Vikings as UDFAs. Wisconsin offensive lineman signs with Minnesota Vikings as undrafted free agent

Wisconsin offensive lineman signs with Minnesota Vikings as undrafted free agent Wisconsin offensive lineman Joe Huber signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent on Saturday, as first reported by Aaron Wilson. Huber is the fifth former Badger headed to the NFL level. Hunter Wohler and Jack Nelson were each seventh-round draft selections, while Graham Mertz and Chimere Dike (via Florida) went in the sixth and fourth rounds, respectively. Huber signs with the Vikings after two years at Wisconsin. The former Cincinnati Bearcat followed head coach Luke Fickell to Madison before the 2023 season. He went on to start all 25 games at right guard over those two seasons, operating as a key piece of a strong offensive line unit. The Dublin, Ohio, native originally joined Cincinnati as an unranked recruit in the class of 2020. He played 20 games over three seasons with the program, that time highlighted by 12 starts at right tackle as a redshirt sophomore in 2022. The lineman was originally projected to be selected in the fifth or sixth round of this weekend's draft. Out of the three Badgers invited to the NFL combine in February, he is the only one to go undrafted. Huber's slide follows an overall disappointing draft cycle for the Badgers. Nelson's selection at No. 218 overall is the longest the program has waited to see a player drafted since 1990. Huber should be one of several Badgers signed as undrafted free agents. He'll now look to make a Vikings 53-man roster that also includes former Wisconsin outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel.
