Spurs 'a difficult place to go in and do well' - Partington on Iraola links
Former Bournemouth defender Joe Partington spoke to BBC Radio Solent's Cherries: Unpicked podcast about reports linking Cherries boss Andoni Iraola with boss Ange Postecoglou has come under pressure in recent weeks - his side are 15th in the Premier League, seven spots below Bournemouth."Iraola is doing a wonderful job at Bournemouth," Partington said."He did a wonderful job at his previous club too, and I suppose the natural progression of a manager who does well at the clubs who aren't deemed as being 'bigger' clubs is being hunted by those bigger clubs."Speaking further, he said: "There are some clubs in the UK at the moment which are difficult to manage. Tottenham is one of them, Manchester United is another one. There are clubs underperforming."If you are one of those clubs who believes they should be near the top of the Premier League and you're looking at the clubs that maybe shouldn't, Bournemouth is probably one of them. And then you look at the manager [Iraola] and the impact he's had, not just on the pitch but certainly off it as well, you want that - that is something you seek to try to achieve."Maybe Tottenham are the club that Iraola believes is the opportunity he needs to showcase himself at the top of the game, but it's a very difficult place to go in and do well, as many other managers who have been very successful have found recently."Listen to the full episode on BBC Sounds

'It's pretty clear Kerkez will probably move on'
On this week's episode of Radio Solent's Cherries: Unpicked podcast, former Bournemouth defender Joe Partington spoke about left-back Milos Kerkez: "He's a standout player at the moment. He's involved in moments that define the outcomes of games."When Kerkez is on it, which he has been for the majority of this season, making those lung-busting 70-yard sprints to either recover or to overlap, and the Newcastle goal sticks out in my head, the assist over the weekend as well, the more moments like that, which he is doing consistently, the more people speak about you and the more people speak about you the more calls he will receive from those [bigger] clubs. "From a player's perspective he's in a nice moment, playing very well. He probably knows there's interest and he's using it as fuel. Inevitable is a strong word, but I think it's pretty, pretty clear that he will probably move on."Listen to the full episode on BBC Sounds

'Players will all tell you Christie is one of the best'
Former Cherries defender Joe Partington speaking about Ryan Christie on the latest Cherries: Unpicked podcast: "Every time Bournemouth win a game the manager is always asked questions about a certain player. Sometimes its [Justin] Kluivert because he scored a hat-trick, maybe its [Antoine] Semenyo because he scored a really important goal."But, Ryan Christie's consistency this season is incredible. His level is so so high - his ability to look exceptionally in control of what he's doing. I hope its not underwhelming to say he's outstandingly basic."His touch is always perfect, his pass is always the right weight at the right time at the right angle - he plays the pass to the right player in the right moment into the right space. He dribbles past people when he should, he finds space between players when he needs to. When the ball looks messy and other players would just clear it, he brings the ball down and finds a team-mate to let the team gain control of the game."He's a really, really important part of why Bournemouth are so successful at the moment. "He's a player's player. He might not be the fans' favourite player but players will all tell you he's one of the best. They all have that respect for him and are so appreciative of his level."Listen to the full episode on BBC SoundsIf you're not a Bournemouth fan, find your club's page here
