Legendary Avon Old Farms coach enshrined in Hall of Fame
AVON, Conn. (WTNH) — A legendary hockey coach was honored on Saturday in Avon.
John T. Gardner amassed over 800 wins in his 47-year career as the coach of Avon Old Farms hockey, where he coached and developed college, Olympic and professional players.

Gardner was inducted into the Avon Old Farms Athletics Hall of Fame.
Many of his former players attended the ceremony.
'We're here to honor the greatest coach and mentor in the country, and someone who's had an enormous impact on countless lives in the hockey rink and outside of it,' said John Mori, class of 2005. 'All of us former players are truly grateful for the way he has influenced us and shaped our lives not only when we were here but also now in our professional and personal lives.'
