THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — An MTA conductor was slashed in the face while announcing train delays in a Bronx subway station on Tuesday afternoon, officials said. More Local News The conductor was announcing train delays when the suspect came up to her and allegedly said, 'no one will tell him what to do,' according to the New York Transit Union. The suspect then allegedly cut the worker on the left side of her face, near her eye, officials said. She was taken hospital for treatment and needed stitches to close the gash, officials said. 'The union is calling on the city to notify police patrols to be especially vigilant and cover the conductor's cab area as they work to reduce crime. This easily could have been a deadly assault — we must do everything we can to prevent the next one,' Union President John V. Chiarello said in a statement.
