Carroll County attorney dies at age 69
CARROLL, IA (KCAU) — John Werden, the county attorney for Carroll County, Iowa passed away at the age of 69.
According to his obituary, he died on Thursday in Des Moines, which is where Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC) is holding their spring conference on Thursday and Friday. Werden was elected as the 2025 President of the ISAC.

He was first elected as the Carroll County Attorney back in 1998 and re-elected ever since. Werden previously served as the county's assistant county attorney.
A visitation is set to take place on March 18 from 4-7 p.m. at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. A Mass of the Christian Burial is scheduled for March 19 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church – St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll.
