Two people killed in Shawnee crash Wednesday morning
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Shawnee Police Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left two people dead Wednesday morning.
The Shawnee Fire Department and Johnson County MED-Act responded to the crash just before 11 a.m. on northbound K-7 near West 47th Street, just south of Bonner Springs.
When crews arrived, first responders determined that two people in one vehicle had sustained fatal injuries and were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The identities of the two people killed are not being released at this time.

Police said the driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. That driver was not seriously injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
