The Jonas Brothers are hosting two album release parties in NYC next week

S.O.S. The Jonas Brothers are celebrating 20 years of hits this year with not only a new album, not only a new tour, but two album release parties in New York City this August to celebrate! Greetings from Your Hometown officially drops August 8, which is when Jonas Brothers fans can officially enjoy the album at two separate events that promise giveaways and limited edition prizes. The Manhattan event will be held at 5pm at Generation Records at 210 Thompson Street in Greenwich Village. This one will boast free tote bags and a raffle to win an autographed Jonas Brothers poster. At 6:30pm, the Greetings from Your Hometown release party begins at Greenpoint's For the Record at 1107 Manhattan Avenue, where fans can enjoy free giveaways and extras with any album purchase. The event is free, no RSVPs required. Those release parties are just two of many held at record stores across the country held August 8, as the Jonas Brothers posted on Instagram. As if that wasn't enough, the Greetings from Your Hometown tour officially launches August 10 in Rutherford, New Jersey. The beloved pop-rock trio first won our hearts in 2005 before briefly breaking up in 2013 and then reuniting in 2019. With the album and the anniversary, this tour will undoubtedly be unlike any that came before, promising fans not just new music but the chance to hear career highlights like stone-cold pop classic "Sucker" all over again. Joining them on select dates are Marshmello, The All-American Rejects and Boys Like Girls. The Greetings from Your Hometown tour runs across America and Canada through November 14, with stops in Toronto, Boston, Los Angeles, Dallas, Nashville and more. It's been a good year to be a Jonas fan. This past spring, the brothers held "the ultimate Jonas Brothers fan experience": a free fan convention, JonasCon, at the American Dream mall in New Jersey. The event featured live performances, DJ sets, Q&As and the announcement of both the Greetings from Your Hometown album and tour. But if you missed it, don't worry. JonasCon will be held at the stadium dates of the tour in place of pre-show activities, offering fans nationwide the chance to bond over their shared fandom.

How Priyanka Chopra's Daughter Malti Marie Introduces Herself As This Disney Princess

New Delhi: Priyanka Chopra recently made a sweet revelation about her daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. The actress shared that Malti is 'such a girly girl" and a huge fan of Moana. During her appearance on Good Morning America, Priyanka said, "She introduces herself as Malti Marie Moana Chopra Jonas. She insists she's Moana. She insists it's her name, like officially her name in school. She says, 'I'm Malti Marie Moana.' " The global icon's daughter also loves to play dress up in her closet. "She loves coming into my closet, wearing my shoes, seeing my dresses. She was with us when we were getting dressed for the Met Gala, and she put on my gloves and my hat and she said, 'Mama and Gaga are going to a ball, just like Cinderella'," added Priyanka. In a previous interview, Priyanka's husband and singer Nick Jonas also talked about Malti's love for Moana. In a chat with People at JonasCon, Nick said, "She wants to play Moana and Maui with me. That means more to me than anything else, is that time with her and just the fact that I'm just Dad when I'm home, it means a lot." Revealing Malti's nickname for his uncles Kevin and Joe Jonas, the singer added, "She looked at the cover art, and she was like, 'Oh, that's Uncle Kevy and Uncle Go.' I said, 'Ya, we are in a band, it's called the Jonas Brothers.' She said, 'The Donut Brothers'." Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, along with their daughter Malti Marie, are currently based in New York. The 3-year-old is attending school in the city. Priyanka will next be seen in Heads of State, alongside John Cena and Idris Elba. The actress is also part of SS Rajamouli's SSMB29. The film features Mahesh Babu in the lead role. Her future projects include The Bluff and Citadel Season 2.

Anthropic Wins First Round In Lawsuit From Music Publishers Over Song Lyrics

A federal court has rebuffed a bid from a trio of music publishers suing Anthropic to stop the use of their lyrics to train the Amazon-backed company's AI system. U.S. District Judge Eumi Lee on Tuesday found that Universal Music Group, Concord Music Group and ABKCO didn't prove that the existing licensing market is being undercut by Anthropic pilfering their material without consent or payment. She also pointed to concerns regarding the 'enforceability and manageability' of a court order that would require the company to rebuild future training models due to the 'enormous and seemingly ever-expanding scope' of works that the case concerns. If the injunction was granted, it would've extended to hundreds of thousands of songs owned by the music publishers. More from The Hollywood Reporter Lady Gaga Announces Mayhem Ball Tour With Shows in North America and Europe Jonas Brothers Take Fan Experience JonasCon on the Road For Select Show Stops Chappell Roan Says People Expect Her to "Play by Different Rules Because I'm Gay" In a statement, the publishers said they remain 'very confident in our case against Anthropic more broadly.' They added that the company 'already conceded the merits of our claims against its infringing outputs of our copyrighted song lyrics, by entering into a stipulation requiring it to maintain 'guardrails' to prevent such infringing outputs, thereby resolving a critical aspect of the motion in our favor.' At the heart of the lawsuit, filed in Tennessee federal court in 2023, are allegations that Anthropic copied lyrics from artists such as Katy Perry, the Rolling Stones and Beyoncé to build its AI model. When asked the lyrics to Perry's 'Roar,' for example, the company's AI chatbot Claude provided an near-identical copy of the words in the piece. The publishers sought a sweeping court order that would temporarily block Anthropic from using lyrics owned by the publishers moving forward. In Tuesday's ruling, the court stressed the 'unknowable universe of songs' that the injunction would apply to. 'Publishers did not offer a concrete or definitive way for Anthropic – as the party subject to the injunction and the legal repercussions of a violation – to ascertain its parameters or comply with its terms,' Lee wrote. Anthropic maintained that excluding an undefined amount of material from its training library would be 'virtually impossible' and would require it to 'have to undertake constant efforts to update the corpus, and restart the future model's training process.' Among the main arguments advanced by publishers is that existing and future licensing opportunities from lyrics aggregators and other AI companies is being undercut by Anthropic using their copyrighted materials without payment. The court disagreed, finding that the publishers haven't advanced any evidence that Anthropic's use of song lyrics has reduced license fees from lyrics websites, which it underscored does not compete with Claude. It said that much of the potential harm from this conduct was resolved in a deal between the two sides reached earlier this year to maintain existing guardrails that prevent Claude from providing lyrics to songs owned by the publishers or create new song lyrics based on the material. Lee also concluded that the market for training licenses has grown since the lawsuit was filed contrary to arguments from publishers that the use of their lyrics to train Claude will damage their position in future negotiations with AI companies. Rather than an injunction, she said that publishers can pursue monetary damages if they ultimately prevail in the lawsuit. In the ruling, the court didn't decide the issue of fair use — a critical question in AI cases that asks whether the use of copyrighted material without a license is permitted, though its analysis of the licensing market may hint broadly at how other judges consider the issue. 'We are pleased that the court did not grant the plaintiffs' disruptive and amorphous request for interim relief in this case,' Anthropic said in a statement. 'As the case continues, we look forward to explaining why use of copyrighted material for training large language models aligns with fair use principles under copyright law.'
